Rockoh T3 Review
It is... It is...
It is green.
Okay so I got Rochok built him, forgot to take pics. But I have a bonus section. So deal with it.
THe Box:
Well, yeah. YOu walk into your local toy store, well, perhaps not local but anyway, look at the Bionicle section, looking for something. The first thing you'll notice are three gaint boxes containing Rockoh, Jetrax and the Alaxara. From the three, Alaxara's box is the most attractive, however when you look closer, you see much more.
It is Rochok's gaint box.
The vehicle and it's rider cover most of the front. It is a good pose showing
Zamor Midak spheres flying and may remind you of a motorbike.
The background is the Swamp of Secrets. The BIONICLE logo takes a lot of space too, and is on a hexagonal background. Bellow it is the name of the set, Rockoh T3.
There is also the picture of the rider and his vehicle, along with the set number, the Bionicle site URL and the age.
It is interesting that the pic doesn't show it in it's full glory. THe set itself is almost as long as the box!
The sides of the box have the usuall gibberish on them. THe back shows the advertisments for the other vehicles, and they show the sets functions.
The Contens:
Okay, so you want to think outside the box. Well, it's not hard to open it. And then out come (I think seven) bags of pieces, and three pieces of instruction.
Interestingly, everything's in a bag, no loose pieces.
The first things that come to mind are the new armor plates.
Well, for Blade it's probably the lime green Inika shoulder armor but anyway.
The first bag contains Pohatu's newest form. I think the mask remained the same, however the visior is a TOTAL WIN.
There is a lot of orange, including the orange Inika armor like the one Hahli had in gunmetal.
The rest...
Well... There's green and black.
The Building:
The build starts witht he rider. It's quite ordinary, but does not dissapoint. THough I suggest replacing lower arms with lower legs, and not turning the body around.
Then coems the Rockoh. It's a long build, and sometimes it's confusing, but it sure is fun! It's amazing how the functions are mostly hidden from sight. Nothing much to say here...
The Playability:
So. You built the set. What now?
Well... umm...
MOVE HIS WINGS UP AND DOWN! And shoot the Midak spheres!
However, you could modify the handle to be able to be rised when landing. It gets unstable otherwise. A simple repositioning of the pieces connecting the two somewhat long technic pieces would dot he trick.
The wing function works perfectly. You wpin something in the back and it goes up and down!
And the zamor shooting? Yep, there is a piece sticking out of the left side (Pohatu's left, not your left) which you have to move to shoot.
It has six spheres in total, but I do like the Midak more...
So I removed the rapid fire pieces (There are two) and placed a midak inside, and modified the top to hide it untill I want to shoot it. I also added pieces to hide the hole in the set while the wings are folded.
Perhaps the functions work, but the 'Flying Fridge T3' isn't really very good for posing. It takes some modification to keep it upright...
But Pohatu looks good alone, too. He would work as a set alone if he had a weapon and shooter!
Okay... Dunno what else to add here...
