Firefox stores the history data in a file appropriately called “history.datâ€; this file can be found in the Firefox Profile folder.

XP users, something like this location:
C:\Documents and Settings\
Owner\Application Data\
Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
h96641qz.default\history.dat

Vista users, something like this location:
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\
Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
29hkakxl.default\
history.dat

Some of the folders may be hidden.


If that does not work, system restore to last working configuration.

he just needs to back up his history files... I'd say copy the whole profiles folder to another location, and hope for the best =/

Well, he asked where the files were... and that's it.

But doing a simple system restore to a point before the problem takes less than 5 minutes in most cases.

But that would also back up the glitch. the glitch is in the profiles folder.

Problem fixed by copying my cookies, history, and passwords, and deleting all my firefox data. fixed the glitch, and I didn't lose anything.
