Bailey struggles for several seconds, then manages to push the corpse of the dead cyborg-bear off of her.  GREAT skills of observation, Curtis, she thinks sardonically.  She picks up her communicator, and checks the frequency before she picks it up.  The coded channel...whatever my supervisor has to say it had BETTER be important.  She opens the channel.  "Bailey here.  Ad calx per aspera?" She said, using a code phrase to ensure the identity of the party on the other end of the line."

OOC: Adrian might have gained access to that channel, if he had spies in the right places.

-==IC: Curtis' surroundings==-
Curtis stumbles and hits the ground hard, hearing a metallic CLANG as he goes down.  As he gets up, he feels his leg resting on metal, but sees it "levitating" a few inches above the ground.  He had found the cloaked Blitz.  Suddenly, he hears movement behind him.

"Ah.  I wondered where he had left that.  For finding it, you have my gratitude.  For now."  The Rebel mech loomed over him, and as he looked into the cockpit, he saw...there was no one inside!  Before he can react, the Blitz fizzles into visibility and jerks its leg forward, sending Curtis flying.

OOC: I'm using green to indicate a computer speaking from now on.   Also, Curtis might want to think twice before attacking two enemy mechs virtually unarmed.  Just sayin'.

Curtis frowned as he scanned his surroundings quickly, but paused as he realized something.
This is the old rebel base. Curtis thought, and then smiled, as he activated the self-supporting systems of his uniform, and then sealed off his visor, all while he ran full speed toward the Rebel base.

"Greetings, Agent Bailey. You are to report to Imperial High Command at Glory Towers immediately."

That doesn't sound like my supervisor...what is going on here?  Bailey decided to play along, just in case this was real.  "Slight problem with that.  My mech is temorarily out of commission.  Another Imperial agent is currently scouting for parts.  Unless you're able to send a repair team, it'll be about a day before we make it back in."  She paused, wondering if that sounded too insubordinate.  She decides to soften up a little.  "I'll report the moment I get back to base."  Then, deciding the information would be worth the risk, she decides to ask a question.  "And if I may ask...how the heck did you get this frequency?"

ERIN was not happy.  The one her files indicated as Curtis was not standing down as she had hoped.  Instead, it seemed he had a plan of some kind to damage or even destroy the mechs.  That was unacceptable.  Although their would not harm her, Mistress Bailey had specifically instructed that these mechs were to be obtained to further her plan.

However, no plan was unassailable...and the Mistress always was good at improvising.

ERIN paused for a full quarter of a second, considering her charge and the role her current assignment would play in the protection of that charge.  She could only command both mechs simultaneously to perform very simple actions, like moving individual limbs, firing from a stationary position at a single target, or walking slowly to a common destination.  More complex actions like true combat or even retreat would require her to alternate her attention between the two mechs, leaving one of them vulnerable while she controlled the other.  Assessing the mechs' strengths and weaknesses, she determined that the Rebel mech's durability would give it a greater chance of survival, while the Blitz' stealth capabilities would allow her to hide it nearby and return for it later--now that she has been in contact with it, it will be child's play to locate it again.

ERIN has the Blitz race away and hide inside the entrance to a different nearby canyon.  She activates its stealth mode, then returns her attention to the Rebel Mech.

For tactical purposes, this mech needs a designation.  From now on, this mech will be...The Revenant.

Curtis dropped down into the base, and then activated the tactical map that had been provided by scouting after the destruction of the base.
Right. So. I just need to find a Mech. The hangar apparently had been remotely intact, however couldn't be infiltrated. I'm going to fix that. Curtis said, as he walked toward the Hangar, and looked around for possible ways into it, as he approached.

OOC: I'm probably just gonna find a generic mech for now. =P

Seeing Curtis heading for the Rebel hangar, ERIN decides to try a combitation of reasoning and subtle manipulation.
"This does not need to end in your destruction.  In fact, you could potentially be a valuable ally, if you're smart enough to take advice.  Be smart, Curtis.  Be smarter than the Rebels who failed to cooperate with me...and look how they ended up."

"Agent Bailey, you are needed at Glory Towers now. Abort your current mission. We will send a repair team."

"Question is; how do you know my name?" Curtis asked, over the voice filtering system of his helmet to filter it up and out of the base. Meanwhile, he quickly spotted a ventilation shaft, and gripped it with his grappling hook, and then pulled back on it to pull the covering off, and quickly climbed into it.

"Alright.  Where is the rondezvous point for a pickup?  I can't make it back to base on foot.  I assume you already have my present coordinates from my communicator?"  Meanwhile, Bailey used her hidden, encrypted secondary unit to send a single coded word to E.R.I.N.

ERIN was about to reply when she recieved a signal from Bailey's emergency unit.  "Code 1T."  Compromise on the coded frequency.  I have to get back to base.  ERIN decided to kill two brds with one stone.  "I know a great many things, Curtis.  I have been watching you and your friends for some time.  You have been a most promising candidate for my plans, but it wasn't until your new friend showed up that I was able to arrange an opportunity for us to speak.  You are a man of honor, Curtis, and the task I have requires such a man, for only to him may I trust the hope of all humanity" A little melodramatic, but pretty much true... "I must leave now, but remember this...honor does not have to lead to single-mindedness and stupidity.  Pay attention, keep your eyes open, and one day you will have the chance to change the world."  ERIN started to pilot the mech away from the ruins, then stopped and turned back to Curtis.  "Oh, and the parts you're looking for?  In the former quarters of the one Intelligence referred to as Cardigan.  The only room in the wing that wasn't completely destroyed.  Oh, and the next time we meet, bring the girl.  She is...most unique.  Already I can tell she would be a valuable ally.  Whether you choose to work with me or not, you should keep that in mind.  Just a tip."  And with that, the mech receded into the darkness.

OOC: E.R.I.N. is taking the mechs to Bailey's secret base, which is undetectable for now.  Oh, and Lloyd Blade, Curtis needs to mentally choose which of those two mechs he likes better.  He's just become part of a contingency scheme, and I need to get Bailey to (try to) weasel out of him which mech he likes better at a later time...something that won't be possible on a meta level if he doesn't notice anything in particular about them now.  
OOC2: I put the parts in Lloyd's old room as an opportunity for more shenanigans...feel free to ignore said opportunity if it doesn't fit.  I would appreciate it, however, if Curtis got back to Bailey soon.

That was weird; but I need to get those parts. But who was that...? That one mech looked almost like it was remote controlled... It could be very useful if it could be used. Curtis thought, as he ran toward the room that the person had pointed out.

Bailey took a step forward while talking to the Imperial...whoever he was.

It was a bad idea.

"Roger that.  I'll...UNGHHHH!!"  Bailey fell to the ground as her world exploded in pain.  She moaned--and she wasn't faking it.

Curtis reached the room that Lloyd used to be in, and then frowned, as he looked around for where the parts were.

Bailey heard someone still talking over the communicator, but she ignored it, focusing instead on remaining conscious in spite of the pain.

Curtis spots a neat package of parts on a repulsorlift pallate next to the window--likely how the mech had gotten them inside.  Oddly, the package of parts is exactly what is needed to repair the mechs, without even a washer left over.  As Curtis examined the parts, the pallate bumps into the outer wall, causing it to fall outward.  A cold breeze enters the room, and as Curtis looks up, he sees the entrance to the canyon he left Bailey in.

Curtis nodded, and grabbed the parts, as he headed back toward the canyon.
She's gotta be somewhere... The Mech didn't have that big of a head start...

Bailey speaks into the communicator, "Think I injured my ankle...will report...to rondezvous...ordered...might. ..take...a while...I'm on my...way..."  Then she spots Curtis coming up the canyon with the parts.  "Curtis...help..."

And with those words, she falls unconscious.

OOC: BTW, it's not her ankle.  That cybernetic bear scratched her, and the mechanical fluids got into her bloodstream.  I'd suggest getting her to base FAST for a detox.
