The next second, the blasts hit the helicopter again, and damaged the scanner too much to read from.

"Can you tell if the blasts are flying straight from the source, or if they have some magical turning system?" Novia asked Kaze and Kenji, activating her armour.

"They're definitely on a straight path." Kaze said, seeing the smoke, and the blast moments later in the same path.

"So then..." Novia thought for a moment. She pulled out her crossbow, and loaded it with a bolt. As soon as the smoke cleared for a moment's time and she could spot one of the blasts ahead of her, she aimed and fired. Following the bolt was a beam of Ki that Novia kept constant with her hand on the bow.
The bolt and blast collided, causing a mid-air explosion, while the remainder of the beam zoomed past that on the blast's trail.

Kaze watched as the beam went out and hit one of the rocks on the cliff, but another blast was aimed and hit the barrier, coming from a little ways away from where the beam hit.

"But, where's the person controlling it then...?" Kaze asked, frowning, as he disabled the control, and grabbed onto it.
"Anyone wanna get back to the school quickly? I'm sure Kazuki'll wanna look at this."

"The controller can't be too far away, considering you'd need a signal to control something like that," Novia pointed out, then added, "And I can go."

Kaze nodded, and grabbed onto the cannon, and then grabbed Novia's hand, and teleported to the lab... Or rather, the lab's roof.
