OOC: Boredom consumes me, and so I have to make a post...

I'm assuming buildings, and the police force still exist (she's not in that alternate person thingy) as the year would suggest it would.

Nothing important happens, and is all pretty much boredom orientated, so reading it won't accomplish much, just a heads up.

IC: Vex could hear some voices as two people passed this alley, and seemingly they noticed the two bodies lying in the alley. Vex moved back a bit, but knocked something over and she could feel herself gasp. The two other people did gasp at what they found, but the added noises from Vex made one of the two venture towards her hiding spot.

She shivered and watched in fear as the older of the two knocked some grimy boxes away and discovered the little harpy. "What the?" the man said as he found her, he was in more shock of what she was than anything.

"Don't hurt me... please don't hurt me... please..." she mumbled pressing herself against the wall while holding her small little dagger close to her chest. The man looked at her weird and decided to try and see if she would hurt him.

She shrieked and moved farther away from the man, and the dagger slipped form her grasp and clattered. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you. I just want to know what happened." the man turned out to be a police officer, but she didn't know that and was trapped in the corner of her hiding spot.

She shook her head vigorously and a whimpering noise sounded from her mouth. The other officer walked over and said something quite loud, and with a profane word mixed in.

"Wha-what is that... thing?" he said mouth agape. She felt more scared now and her wings pressed hard against her body. She was afraid, and felt a bit insulted, but she didn't dare say anything to respond to the person.

"A potential witness, now quit firghtening her." The other cop said evidentially not caring about her wings, and skin color, or her abnormally large eyes. "She's just a kid and looks like she hadn't eaten in months."  Vex would have gone into a fetal position had there been the room. "Come on kid, don't worry, we're here to help."

"Are y-you sure... that she's not like... some... supermutant freak?" the other officer asked very unnerved by all of this.

"Shut it, and don't be mean." The older officer said holding out his hand in a gesture that he meant no harm to the young harpy. Without much choice she shakily grabbed it and pulled herself to her feet, even if she was shaking in fear and felt like her knees would crumple from under her. The officer held her straight enough and her wings tightened more against her back than earlier.

"You... sure this is a good idea?" the other asked, Vex looked down obviously figuring out that the other one didn't like her, and she didn't want to be hurt. However she grabbed her little dagger, and after much insistence from the older officer she handed it over. She didn't want to make either angry, but that dagger meant a lot to her.

"You'll get it back, eventually." The older cop said more to make her feel a little better about it than tell the full truth. She was barely up to the man's chest and looked more like a very dirty twelve year old than a fifteen year old, but that probably had more to do with her style of living.

The two cops (with the younger always with his hand on his gun, but Vex didn't even know what a "gun" was) led her to their car, and already called in for an investigation crew on the bodies. In the mean time they'd take her most likely to their department and perhaps get her into a nice change of clothes and probably have her clean herself up as she looked horrible. Then they'd probably ask her a few questions regarding what she saw, but probably not in an interrogation room as that would most likely unsettle her incredibly.

"We'll get you all cleaned up and more... presentable in public." The older officer said while giving her a reassuring pat on the back, inbetween her wings. He wasn't as shocked by her appearance as he viewed people in two ways; "A witness" or a "suspect" however, he didn't think himself to think that way.

"O... kay..." Vex said thinking she should respond. He was glad that at least this little person knew english.

"What's your name?" He asked figuring that she would probably end up in foster care after this. She to him couldn't have been a day over twelve, but even if she was fifteen that was still a bit young to be left uncared for.

She seemed to choke on the answer, but managed to say "V... V-V-Vex..."

"Vex? That's an interesting name." The older officer said as he opened the back door for the winged, and now that he noticed, clawed and fanged person. She hesitantly went in, not wishing to fight or make a scene with people who were twice her size almost. She wrapped herself in her wings nervously and chewed the inside of her lip. "You get carsick?" he asked not exactly wanting puke all over the back of his car.

"C-carsick?" she asked not even knowing what a "car" was.

"I'll take that as a 'no'." The cop replied while stepping down quite hard on the gas while using sirens to get people out of the way. It didn't take long until they reached their destination, but Vex could still feel the younger cop looking back at her very frequently. She felt unnerved by that, but didn't say anything about it and shifted in several positions. They had to put the seatbelt on her as it was something new to her, but she didn't protest, although she struggled a little against it.

When they did pull up, the older cop had to open the door and unbuckle her as she didn't know how, and took her out of the vehicle. She was terrified, but was also curious and looked around a little as they walked. She cowered when other people would stare, and some would whisper behind her back which wasn't a good feeling.

She felt very out of place here, and hated the whispers. She used her wings to cover herself from everyone else and the older cop reassuringly patted her on the back which made her stumble forward a little. "Sorry about that." She fiddled with the bottom of her torn shirt and kept her eyes downcast despite the fact that her face had become very red from the constant stares and whispers.

"It'll be alright, once you get into some regular clothing."

***

It had been a few hours, but Vex had ended up in normal looking clothing, and had cleaned herself up after asking what several things were beforehand. She looked... halfway normal as far as cleanliness and how her jet black hair was.

She still looked like a twelve year old versus a fifteen year old due to her natural physical traits. He smiled at her and decided to take her somewhere where she'd feel more secure and would answer some questions. His partner was always making up some excuse to do something when she was around, and he allowed him to do so.

"So, Vex was it?" what exactly was it that you saw? The two were back in the car, and he had ended up giving her a frozen treat which she had looked over a thousand times before feeling safe enough to actually put a little in her mouth.

She didn't answer, but looked down and said "Mean people." as if it was the answer to everything.

"How many 'mean' people were there?" The cop inquired while Vex ate a little more of the ice cream he had gotten for the poor little girl. Her wings were scrunched up. A call came over the speaker, and he sighed. Bringing Vex along wouldn't be a very good thing, so rather than do that he told her to simply stay outside while he went off to this new thing.

When the car was gone and she had finished the treat he had given her she spread her wings and in a flurry of feathers, she flew off not wishing to stay around for later things.
Her flight was a few hours, and when she landed ontop of a very high up building she was panting from the effort it took. Her shoulder muscles burned as did the muscles in her wings.

She was covered in sweat and her chest heaved up and down while she breathed, she had laid herself down on the roof with her wings splayed out under her body. Some of her feathers had dislodged themselves and lay here and there, but she didn't mind that.

One thing she was happy about was that she got away from those people, she was afraid of people, and the shirt she wore was a few sizes too large and her pants were slightly too small in length, and had to be tied with a rope-like string she had found laying around as if it were a belt.

She closed her large eyes and lay there, tired more than anything and was hoping for sleep to come easy.
