Chapter Five
The Rift
A large circular design was etched into the ground at the end of the peninsula. Surrounding the pattern were seven stones erected in such a way as to form a kind of hut, each stone leaning in towards the center of the circle. Crioone and Taverna stepped carefully around the mysterious looking shape, not sure of what it was. But they were certain of one thing: the markings were not natural, nor did they fit into the rest of the landmass.
The waves hitting the peninsula splashed upwards towards the two deamons, the blue-grey water landing on the ground, then receeding back towards the ocean.
"So what now?..." Crioone turned back to come face to face with an old face.
A large sized deamon stood behind Crioone and Taverna, his face full of wisdom. Although his physical appearence and size had changed, the face of the small deamon of Mitora remained the same.
"What are you-?" Taverna exclaimed.
"Your time is almost up, Taverna the emerald and Crioone the blue. What you see before you is known as the circle of space. Stepping into it will open a window in time and space, allowing you to return to your own world. This rift will appear at the end of the peninsula, and will stay for only a few seconds after you leave the circle. Concentrate your whole willpower on the rift to hold it for as long as possible, and get into it. Once in the rift, you will go unconscious for as long as it takes to get back to your world. Your thoughts before and after your get into the rift must be one and the same: your destination. If they are not powerful and true, your lives will be taken, and your life will end in the rift. You knwo have only little time to remove yourselves from Mitora, as well as your next destination. Now go... you have used enough time." The deamon moved back from Crioone and Taverna, letting them step forwards towards the circle of space. As soon as Crioone's foot touched the circle, the mysterious deamon was gone, leaving Crioone, Taverna and the rift the only things left in their states of mind...
