Santa’s Rein-Moose

Let me say first, I wish you all, all the happiness in the world this Holiday Season.
The pics that follow where inspired by many avenues.
First, as some of you know my family and I attended a Toronto Lego themed convention
this past summer. The event kit was a Moose that was impossible to build, that inspired me to find a way.
It was actually my dear wife that found better instructions on-line.
I then decided to go one step further by doing it on LDD for the whole world to see.

Second was the fact that whoever designed the Moose in the first place, I felt needed a little more honouring,
so I decided that Santa's Rein-Deer needed a vacation.

LDD was the place to start, and as usual, I got carried away with the bricks, the cost of this model is 450.00 CAN.
Ouch eh? Further though, I have submitted this to Design By Me and when approved, I will insert the lxf. file here.
Also I intend to modify the model to bring the cost down, I have several ideas.
Third, I built the sleigh this way because at heart, I truly believe Santa was once a Pirate.
Hence the big wheel and the toy bag cabin room.

Merry Christmas Brickers, and to all, Keep on Brickn' eh

The legodac Brickerage Firm

BTW, I feel compelled to point out that most of the key elements came from other Lego modellers in this design.
So we'll call this a Christmas collaboration.

Thank me? Thank-you for posting MsRR, that really means so much to me, it's the second best reason why I'm here at MLNO.

BTW, BrickFete will be doing it all again next year around the same time, http://www.mlno.org/index.php/topic,7181.0.html

Looks like I'm going to have to pull out the bricks if I want to see this built

Excellent! Mak will be most pleased.

I'd love to see better pics of your lighted Christmas village. Would you post them in this topic so we don't loose your MOC from the front page??

Not sure how posting pics of my lighted Christmas village will keep others from posting a new MoC here, but hey, you asked, so here goes...

That's about it MsRR, interesting though that you brought this up, I now have in my grasp the two models that will add to this little corner, #19216 The Bakery and #10222 The Post office. They will both be a part of this corner soon, don't hold your breath, you may have to wait till next Winter.

Thanks MsRR

What did you use to light the tree?

I love the train and robot on display in the window. =D

Thank you both so much, It's nice to know I still have fans even after my mouth runneth over.

Well CC, The lights themselves where all purchased from a hobby store. They are 12 volt and come in various sizes and colours. They all come with two lead wires or pigtails is another term. The leads are about 8 inches long which make it convenient to wire a Lego Christmas tree or install in a store front or even in a light standard. The bulbs themselves don't create a lot of heat even after prolonged hours. As you can see from the last photo I actually put them in clear Lego pieces.

Also CC, I am looking for a topic I have here somewhere, still trying to find it, in the meantime, you might enjoy something even older

Sadly, I believe the light my LEGO topic may have been lost in the deletion... luckily you have it on Eurobricks as well, tho not as many pics as before. Perhaps you could recreate it here??

I certainly will, I still have all the pictures I ever took in an isolated hard drive. I won't be able to do it right away, that is at least till after Christmas.

I have several large new sets that will be going onto my train layout and each one that I build will have lights inside and out. Then of course pictures will be taken to document some step by step How to's and then get posted here at MLNO in the new topic,
