Alexa looked at her watch and lifted an eyebrow. "its getting late. i gotta be getting some sleep....."

"you have any idea where you're gonna stay?"

OOC: they have every bit of information there is on him. He was their top operative for a few years. (Of curse they don't know he's a symboyant... )

IC: Tyler walked back to the car to get his other bag. He walked right past Regulus without knowing it.

OOC: so, wait, NONE of us knows OOC what the CIA would know IC about Blade's character, including Blade himself? XD

Regulus almost choked on his coffee.  Either I'm hallucinating, or the universe has a supremely twisted sense of humor.  And considering that Zagrene had already built up a resistance to most hallucinogens by the time I found him...  He walks up to the reception desk, careful to keep his face out of sight of the security cameras.  He knew they had seen him on the way in, but he hoped that between his anonymous looks and his own...unique...abilities, no one would be able to notice him asking awkward questions.

"Excuse me, miss" he said, flashing his credentials--they were diplomatic rather than investigative, but there was no way of telling at a glance, "that man that just walked by, what room is he staying in?"
"Which man, sir?"
Regulus pulls out a wallet-sized photo of Tyler, from a few months back--the same photo he had given to his troops in case Matthews had decided to crash the failed meeting in Colorado.  Could he have been the one the CIA was after?  The CIA and MI5 don't particularly like each other, but they work together anyway, so if he was an MI5 plant, they'd have no reason to...  Regulus' symbiont circulatory organ skipped a beat.  Oh, no.  Oh, ****.  Oh, ****.  ****!  "Miss, I'm afraid it's extremely important, for matters of international security."  Adding a mental push that served to loosen both her reservations about cooperating with him and her memory of him, he continued, "It's also quite important that this man, Tyler Matthews, does not know that the authorities are after him."

OOC: IIRC, a hotel clerk who finds out a client is using a false name will tend to side with the authorities.  If Regulus gets a false ID of Tyler's great, but what he really needs is a room number so the two of them can talk.

Isn't Regulus Rexus' character? I don't see Rexus giving you permission to do that?

OOC: Regulus is my character.  Tyler is MTM's character.

I...uh...don't exactly remember who Rexus' character is.

Also, should I make a profile for Jarvis or not?  He's more of a player-controlled NPC than an actual PC, but...

OOC: sure, why not? Also, a profile allows for backstory and potential for character development, which is always good.

IC: "Sir I'm afraid I'm going to need to see some sort of id to prove you're with the authorities before I can tell you any of our guest's personal information."

IC: Tyler walked back into his and Daniel's rooms with the last of the bags, and flopped down on the bed. "Get some sleep Dan, tomorrow's your introduction into corporate espionage."

"Uh... okay. Colorado... should be soon..."

Daniel then fell onto a bed and promptly fell asleep.

Regulus irritatedly prepared to give the woman a mental shove, when General Carter emerged from the elevator.  "Sir?  We need your input on the...operation."
"General, ah, good you're here.  Would you mind explaining our authorization?"
"Ah...of course, sir.  Ma'am, we're dealing with a sensitive situation here--"
"--Involving known terrorist--"
"Ah, sir, is she cleared--?"
"I spotted one of his known associates in the lobby."
"Oh...Ma'am, for matters of national security, it is imperative that you--"
"General, please, just show her the authorization papers, we don't have time to waste explaining."
General Carter showed his British military I.D. and the papers that allowed his unit to operate within the United States, under Lord Regulus' orders.  Regulus tapped his foot impatiently as he waited for the clerk to cough up Matthews' room number.

IC: "Sir there is no Tyler Matthews staying here, I'm sorry"

OOC: I can into the Us under a fake passport, so....

OOC: I showed her a picture.  Read my posts!

OOC: She wasn't at the desk when he checked in five minutes ago?!

"Have you--or anyone else on staff, for that matter--seen this man?"  Regulus shows her the picture again.

IC: "I just got here! I haven't see anyone! You want to ask the staff? Ask them yourself.!"

"All right, then, I need a list of all employees who have been here within the last twenty-four hours, especially those who have been here recently.  Call their cell phones and make them come back here if you have to, I have to see them now.  I'll also need a list of everyone who's checked in during that time period, starting with the most recent."

Regulus sighs and does the work himself.  First he sends messages to all of the employees to report to work immediately for an inspection, then he starts reviewing the check-ins, focusing on the ones that took place within the past few hours...

OOC: Room number, pretty please?

Dismissing Markswood as too close of a name change, Regulus decides to head to rooms 103 and 137 first.  "General," he said quietly, "you, Jarvis, and two of your men get dressed in something casual, and keep an eye on the rooms I've pulled up here.  If you see Matthews try to leave, stall him and click the push-to-talk twice.  I'm heading to Room 137 now, have Jarvis take 213.  You take 463, and your men can handle the other two.  Be casual, alright?"

Regulus walks up to Room 137 and listens at the door, hoping to overhear some clue as to whether or not it was Matthews inside.

You hear discussion of many different types of weapons, including favoring a ak-47, and something about gamertags

You hear yelling between a man and a woman, and you catch the word divorce

You hear a baby crying and complaining parents

You hear a child happily babbling about Mickey but the sound seems to be on a repeating track

After posting guards to room 103 (just in case it wasn't a Call of Duty tournament), Regulus begins to head for Room 463.  Just then, Jarvis approaches him.
"Sir, Room 213 is all quiet."
"General Carter reports an odd, repeating track  in 463, I'd say that's pretty--"
"Matthews wouldn't know you were coming.  Especially if he's following us."
"Great minds think alike, I see."
"Take 263.  Clear the guards off the floor, I'll cover you from the end of the hallway.  If he is one of us, only we can know."
"What a bout Carter?"
"Keep him busy.  That 463 disturbance should do the trick."
Regulus nods.  "Right."  Waiting for Jarvis to retreat to the end of the hall and pull out his handgun--a small model with a top-of-the-line silencer and a prototype magnetic accelerator--Regulus knocks on the door of Room 213.
I hope we're wrong about him, Jarvis thinks to himself.  I haven't had the need to test this thing out for the past 20 years.  I'd hate to have to prove it useful.

OOC: Gun's for flavor, to show the kind of lateral-thinking technology Regulus roduces for a living, in all other respects it's just a gun.

Meanwhile, General Carter knocks on the door, opting not to say anything and let his military demeanour do the talking.

A crazed looking man with bloodshot eyes opens the door and literally throws a 3 year old at the general, then slams the door. The child looks up and starts babbling at him about toontown.

The snoring only seems to get louder
