"Reported running south from this hotel....." Matt closed his eyes. "She turned off her uplink...... We need to find a - no, she's in a Siri shell. Too proprietary for that. Um..... Where's the nearest hexwave generator?"
Virnuk looked at him blankly .
"Of course you wouldn't know, its too obscure.... one of the last things apple patented, so they were incredibly rare......."

A strange looking man walked over. "Sorry for overhearing you, but, well..... I have one."

Virunk looked at the man in suspicion. Wait; hold on, he does that to everyone. Okay then, Virunk looked at the guy normally.
"Who are you?" Virunk asked, as he asked the most obvious question anyone could at that precise moment.

Matt tried to hold in a shudder. Cultists freaked him out. but if this man had a hexwave generator. ....

"My robot - uh, my Siri - is in danger. It.... has some very important trade secrets on it. Its locater has been disabled so i need a Hexwave Generator to remotely connect to it."

"Trade secrets?"  The man gives Matt a look that was difficult to read--was that disappointment?  Or fear of such...?  "What sort of trade secrets are we talking about here?  Your dad's?  Your boss's?  The government's?"

"Highly classified." Virunk said, not entirely sure how to read this person's facial expressions; however, since even he knew classified could mean a number of things, he was willing to help out Matt by answering that way.
"Though, enlightenment is likely good too." Virunk said, hoping to play along, just in case it was disappointment that the two hadn't wanted this 'enlightenment'.

"Trade secrets are secret, of course, though its a Siri shell, so who's should be obvious. And....  if some of your teachings came with access to the generator, I would not be..... opposed to that."

"And, of course, ourselves." Virunk added, if only to please the Cultist, so that they would get the generator. On a normal day, Virunk probably wouldn't have necessarily bothered with this discussion, but it appeared that Matt was already having an influence on his actions, and was effectively stopping him from drawing his sword and threatening the cultist directly.

OOC: Speaking of which, you're doing a rather good job of ICing a cultist. =P

The cultist raised his eyebrow.  "All intelligence would benefeit, you say?  Please, define 'benefeit'.  No," he says, quickly holding his hands up in a show of innocence, "I do not wish to know anything that would infringe upon thine idea.  But I must know what benefeit or peril might be wrought upon this world should I aquiesce to thy request.  Besides," he adds with a piercing stare, "it shall tell me if these secrets are truly thine own creation, or merely the property of a soulless corporation which you hath been tasked to retrieve."

The moment Matt mentioned "my robot", the cultist stood back and inclined his head respectfully.  "Very well.  For the innovator of creativity, I am always honored at the pleasure of aid."  He swept his robes open, revealing a trio of glowing rods.  "Do you require transportation?"  At their confused looks, he gracefully inverts his palm, which projects an image of a clean, hard-edged villa at the top of a hill, built in a style that the humans of the early 21st century might have called "modern".  "My domicile is in Beverly Hills.  I keep all of the Revered One's artifacts there.  When we arrive, do you wish to join me for nourishment, or does thy ingenuity satiate thy physical needs, as they do mine?"

The cultist looks inordinately pleased.  "Ah, you have discovered the freedom that springs from the nourishment of the mind!  Well done, my friends!"  The clutist removes one of the glowing rods, and a number of small robots swarm from the nearby alley to him, joining together into a smooth-lined bipedal vehicle.  "This way, innovators!" he says, taking off toward the freeway.
