Virunk frowned, as he stepped back for a moment.
"What's going on here?" Virunk asked, mirroring Matt's quickly, in definitive confusion.

Matt looked into the air. "his implants are still transmitting... If they run they know who we are, we'll be in trouble... though we kinda already ARE in trouble..."

"I just have a bad feeling about all this..." Virunk said, prepared to grab his sword at any moment.

OOC: So, when does he go full on robot on us, and attempt to kill us? I want them to run away with Virunk yelling 'I TOLD YOU SO... I TOLD YOU SO!!!' for comic relief.

The airport in Los Angeles contacted an aircraft emerging from the lower Earth's ionosphere, clearing it for landing. The passengers were mostly businessmen making the trip from the eastern EU to LA to meet with some of their associates. There were many reasons why one would want this plane to crash; one of them was a former crime lord from Moscow, another was involved in the disappearance of several leading Korean scientists in the fields of neurology and cybernetics... Many people would pay a lot of money for that plane to never land safely. And it didn't.

The explosion wasn't exceptionally large; just enough to destroy a part of one of the engines and send the plane rolling trough the air and eventually into the ground. When the plane crashed, the fireball could be seen for hundreds of miles. Nobody could have survived that crash, or so everyone thought.

Once the authorities reached the crash site, they saw that the devastation was immense. Hundreds of square miles of burned forest surrounded a large crater, presumably where the plane first touched the ground. They realized that they would have to dig into the ground to reach most of the wreckage. After some of digging, they reached a large metal object. They cut a hole trough its surface and entered what they thought were the remains of the passenger capsule. After the initial explosion, a massive fireball wiped out all 2500 passengers, leaving only charred remains and shattered pieces of cybernetic implants. There was, however, one survivor. They couldn't identify him because most of his skin was burned off, but they managed to stabilize his condition and take him to a hospital...

Matt's eyes went wide as the sky lit up with a fireball.

"Well carp" he muttered. "Watch my back, I'm jumping into cyberspace to check this out" Matt leaned back against a building and closed his eyes. His head slumped forwards.

Inside cyberspace, Matt materialized in a busy room, walls plastered with holographic displays, like a futuristic (even for that era) monitoring station. "John! Quark! Mari! Situation?" A woman, Mari, turned to him from a shadowed chair, the light of a Holopad illuminating her grim face "Telemetry indicates a massive plane crash. Many miles of devestation from the explosion."

Matt swore. "Quark?" A hologram materialized, of a modified version of a common personal assistant avatar. "Three leading scientists from your company were onboard sir. It appears to have been a Dragon-Class Intra-planet luxury ship."
"Anyone else I should know about?"
"I don't have access to that info sir." Quark answered
"Well, hack in, get it."
"Yes sir"
"Keep me informed" Matt said, closed his eyes, and vanished.


Back in the alley, Matt opened his eyes. "Massive plane crash, important people onboard. I have no idea if this relates to us or not." He looked over at the police officer, still frozen. "This guy's really unnerving... should we leave? I mean, we'll all be on record, probably wanted for murder, but..."

"We need to find out what's going on, and we can't do that locked in a jail cell, for questioning or otherwise. So yeah, let's leave, before he decides to unfreeze."

Matt put his arm around Kira and guided her to his car. "How are you?"
She shook her head "I don't know. I feel more lost than ever, but now...." She looked at the officer "There's something very unnerving about that. "

"You think it's unnerving to you..." Virunk muttered, as he always had a bad feeling about things. having your hometown taken over by cyborgs tended to do that to a person.

"So... where to now?"

OOC: i forget where we're going. my company's lab?

IC:

Seth surveyed his surroundings. Many people he could see had suddenly froze, and he could feel chills running down his spine. What in the name of sanity was going on? He waved his hand in front of a 'frozen' person, asking them if they were all right, and no, he did not immediately die like the foolish guy that almost always gets killed in the movie for being too careless.

Suddenly, many, if not all, of the frozen people started moving... yet they moved as if they were mechanical, which was quite unnerving. Then, within seconds, Seth could feel a 'frozen' person trying to squish his hand... what in the world was happening, he thought. Everything just got so much weirder and unnerving.

"Weren't you about to lead us to where we were going? I'm honestly not sure where that is or was." Virunk said, as he was relatively new to the area and all.

IC:
Rushing to the nearest hospital, the rescuers monitored the passenger's condition. Much of his body had been torn apart during the crash, yet he continued to live.

"well, before we head off to try to figure out what's going on, i wanna get you upgraded....."

IC:

The Police Officer that 'froze' unfroze. Almost immediately, it dashed towards Matt, Virunk, and Kira, with extermination on its mind, and nothing else.

Matt saw the cop unfreeze. "let's get out of here" he said, and the car took off.
Matt heard a thump. Without turning around he asked "did he just grab onto the back of the car?"

OOC: blade-  answer yes =P

IC:

The cop flipped onto the back of the car, then literally punched through the back window of the car, without feeling pain, something no ordinary human could do. The cop then started reaching for Virunk's neck, all while having an emotionless face and all humanity removed. For the now drone-like cop, Virunk was his highest priority target to eliminate, since Virunk was 100% organic.

"Yes, yes!!" Virunk said, and drew his sword quickly,intending to whirl around in the limited space he had, and stab the guy right in the brain, where the implants would be kept. Tricky part, was doing all that without accidentally hitting anyone else.
"I told you this would happen!!" Virunk said, panicked beyond belief; especially because of the situation.

IC [Seth]:

Seth squirmed, but the previously 'frozen' drone tried to crush his hands, as more and more previously 'frozen' people surrounded him, giving him lifeless stares. He was to witness the 'extermination of an unfortunate non-frozen person during this, and he understood that he was likely to be exterminated next.

"All right, I surrender. You've got me. Take me to where the others are." he said, in an attempt to meet up with other, non-drone-like people. To his surprise, it succeeded. He was then being taken to a factory-like place, known for producing self-driving motorcycles, which was apparently now a 'base' for the drones.

What was about to take place, nobody was ever going to see coming.

"Today has been excellent. Once the organics have been killed, install Euron-brand implants into their bodies so they can join us. Make sure nobody finds out we did this. Appease me, and you will not join them yourself."

[Flipz]

A plasma blast rocked the back of Matt's car, followed by another, and another.  The occupants could barely see flashes of blue, white, and orange out the rear window, but cannot see the source as the policeman is still in the way.
