A massive ion surge enveloped the Borg vessels and they were both destroyed...

~Back story~

In mid 2384, both the Romulan and the Federation fleets were deployed along the borders of the Neutral zone. Half a decade after the end of the Dominion war and with the Klingons and the Cardassians out of the picture, the two powers were resuming their cold war. This wasn't a simple standoff however; in the last several days, three colonies from both sides of the zone were annihilated and reduced to fields of asteroids. Eventually,  the force that was destroying the planets inside the neutral zone moved into Federation territory. It was a massive spherical object the size of a moon, based around a weapon powerful enough to destroy whole solar systems. It was surrounded by hundreds of ships and thousands of fighter. Outnumbered and outgunned, Starfleet asked the Romulans for help against their mutual foe. They agreed and a combined Federation-Romulan fleet prepared to engage the unknown force...

~Current situation~

The Federation-Romulan fleet is heading towards the Carraya system, where the Death Star is preparing to destroy another Federation colony. It consists of 13 D'Deridex class warbirds and Starfleet Battlegroup Omega.

~Factions~

The United Federation of Planets
The UFoP was founded more than two hundred years ago as a large alliance of worlds that work towards common goals such as the exploration of space. However, even after hundreds of years of fighting against stronger and more violent species, they have upheld their principles and continued to explore the galaxy and promote peace.
The Federation has two different military;

~Starfleet
Starfleet is the United Federation Of Planets' primary military organization. It has thousands of battle-ready ships and tens of thousands of support vessels. Most of them are, however, spread over a large area off the Alpha and Beta quadrants of the Milky Way. A good number of their ships are also currently undermanned and undergunned, after the end of the Dominion War and the subsequent peace between most of the major powers in the galaxy.

~Battle Group Omega
Following the battle between the Reman warbird Scimitar and the Enterprise-E, Starfleet recognized the need to have a concentrated assault group capable of fighting against any potential threat. The group is based in the Sol sector and can reach any of the Federation's borders within six days. It is composed of 15 starships, all modified to have the latest in defensive and offensive systems. The battlegroup is led from the USS Berlin, a Defiant-class starship modified to have additional command functions, a large sickbay capable of taking in casualties from all the other vessels during a battle. The ships also have the capability of interstarship teleportation trough shields.

The Romulan Star Empire:
The end of the Dominion war brought peace to the galaxy, mostly due to all the powers being exhausted from the war. Still, both powers have been using subterfuge to continue their power struggle. Even though the animosity still exists, the Romulan Senate allowed a force of D'Deridex warbirds to assist battlegroup Omega against the new threat. They currently have thousands of warships.

The Klingon Empire:
During the war, the Klingons lost most of their fleet and officer corps, forcing them to withdraw back from a lot of their conquered worlds, leaving a massive power vacuum between the Romulan, Klingon and Federation borders that none of the powers could take advantage of. Even after 7 years of recovery however, they are still unable to send any ships to combat the Empire.

The Galactic Empire:
Shortly after Palpatine's ascent to power, the Empire found itself under attack by a mysterious force that seemed to be only interested in conquest. It was unlike anything they had seen before. Hundreds of ships shaped like simple geometric shapes emerged from what seemed to be a large wormhole, imprisoning hundreds of worlds and destroying a lot of the Imperial Fleet. However, after hundreds of battles, the mysterious species was beaten back and the Empire sent a massive fleet trough the wormhole and attacked several worlds on the other side, including Carraya Prime, since they thought that they were the people who attacked them. They currently have hundreds of Star Destroyers, dozens of Super Star Destroyers and millions of starfighters.

The Rebellion:
Following the Borg attack, the Rebel commanders thought that they could find help on the other side of the wormhole. They sent several ships to the other side, which was at the time located near the Bajoran sector. They have established contact with the Federation and are currently heading towards Earth.

~Rules~

1: God-moding is forbidden. That includes doing things beyond what is possible, crossing long distances in mere seconds without reasonable explanations (and all such things have to be checked with me or a co-host), and anything else that might be considered god-moding.
2: Use IC and OOC. IC is In Character; use it while saying something that adds to the story. Use OOC for anything else about the game. Try and avoid OOC-only posts though.
3: Make your posts understandable. That means NO LEET, and reasonably good grammar. Try and keep your browser's spell checker on while posting.
4: Don't spam. This includes posting that you just kept walking, but short posts during battles are allowed.
5: You CAN die in this RPG. While you cannot be killed by someone else without saying that you want to, I can kill you if you let your guard down for too long, or let yourself venture into dangerous situations. Mostly, you'll get killed for entering situations which it would be god moding to escape.
8: Since it's hard to compare Star Trek and Star Wars since the tech is fundamentally different, we'll have to make some rules about that. In general, a D'deridex class warbird is about equal in power to an Imperial Star Destroyer. A Galaxy-class ship would be slightly less powerful.

Faction: Starfleet
Personality: Like the rest of his species, he likes order and despises chaos. However, he doesn't dislike monoforms. He also has quite a calm temper.
Bio: He was one of the initiators of the project in which the Founders sent out 100 changelings to explore the galaxy. After the Dominion war, he also chose to leave their homeworld  and joined Starfleet to attempt to bring the two powers closer. He's currently a captain in Battlegroup Omega.
Weapons and tools: None
Appearance: Generally has an appearance similar to Odo's, but he occasionally changes it.

Blade

Character Name: Blade Hikari
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Species: Force Wielding Human
Faction: Starfleet
Personality: A person filled with justice, Blade wishes to protect the order of the worlds and universe, and will risk everything possible.
Bio: Stumbling into the endless star fights, Blade had to make do with what he could of the situation, not really having a clue which side to join; eventually choosing Starfleet randomly.
Weapons and tools: LightSaber Chainblade. Don't ask how it works, it's less complicated that way.
Appearance: Brown hair, green eyes, you know the deal.
Other: This is not related to any other version of Kaze or Blade before this.

Gender: Female
Species: Pureblood Sith
Bio: Vitrial appears loyal to the Empire, but at heart, she's a true Sith - only out for herself.
Weapons: Force powers (duh), two red lightsabers.
Appearance: Typical of her species, she has red skin and very short tentacles on her face. Her hair is red as well, and she keeps it tied in a ponytail.

Gender: N/A
Species: Unknown - Cube was created as an experiment by the Rakata.
Bio: Cube was found imprisoned in a vault on Belsavis. The Rakata writings outside the vault claimed Cube had been corrupted by the warlike Esh-Kha and their God, the World Razer. The Empire released it nonetheless.
Weapons: Shapeshifting, minor Force powers, some old Rakata tech.
Appearance: Varies - Cube is a shapeshifter.

IC (Rakoua):
I was on the bridge of the USS Berlin when we heard the news of the attack. Fearing the worst, Omega was mobilized almost immediately. We went to the Carraya system to find out what was going on. When we got there, we were met by a massive force of ships...
"Hail them... perhaps we can still resolve this peacefully..."

[The Truth]

"Why did you wake me?" Vitrial yelled at the ensign, who of course had no idea why he had been ordered to wake Vitrial. "I told you not to disturb me unless I asked to be disturbed!" "I-I'm sorry, my lord-" "DID I GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO SPEAK?!" "N-no, my lord, I-" "Then why are you talking?"  "I-" "I ASKED YOU A QUESTION, NOW ANSWER!"

The captain of the ship spared the ensign further questioning. "We're being hailed, my lord."

[Rakoua]

IC (Rakoua):
"I am captain Rakoua of the Federation starship Berlin. State your business in our territory and explain the fact that you are attacking one of our planets." I said over the comm channel, hoping that they could hear it.

[The Truth]

"I am Darth Vitrial, Lord of the Dark Council. This star system is now part of the Sith Empire."

[Rakoua]

IC (Rakoua):
"The United Federation of Planets doesn't recognize a Sith Empire in this part of space."
At that moment, my Romulan counterpart, Commander Sela, joined in.
"The Romulan Star Empire will not allow a new power to destabilize a region of space that was determined to be neutral by dozens of interstellar power."

[The Truth]

"Like I give a kark what you think, alien scum. Assuming you're even capable of thinking. Captain, cut the transmission, fire proton torpedoes at one of their ships. All power to shields."

[Rakoua]

OOC: At first the weapons from SW won't be effective against ST shields and vice versa, since the concepts are different. A simple recalibration should make them kill stuff though.
IC (Rakoua):
"Raise shields!" I shouted and the proton hit the shields, dissipating without doing much damage.
"Fire quantum torpedoes!"
All of the ships fired quantum torpedoes at the Sith, but they didn't really do much damage.
"Reconfigure them to  [technobabble]"

[The Truth]

(Captain): "No effect."

(Vitrial): "You have three seconds to live. Make them count."

(Captain): "Recalibrate all weapons and shields."

(Vitrial): "Good. And goodbye."

Lightning arced from Vitrial's fingers, killing the unfortunate captain instantly. "Someone clean this up. Prepare to fire."

[Rakoua]

IC (Rakoua):
"Pattern alpha! Attack!"
The Defiant-class escorts attacked, dodging enemy fire while the Sovereign and Prometheus classes rushed into the middle of the enemy formation, trying to keep too close to the enemy for them to get a decent target lock. However, due to them having next to no info about those ships, they couldn't be certain WHERE their weapons were. The Romulans supported, soaking up the fire and laying down some cover since they were less maneuverable.

[The Truth]

Vitrial knelt down and entered a Battle Meditation, linking the minds of her followers and making them brave and loyal, while also making the weak-minded among her enemies frightened and useless.

(Munitions officer): "Continue firing all lasers, use torpedoes on the enemy shield generators. Scanning officer, keep looking for weak spots in the enemy ships. Give the Cube time to get in position."

[Rakoua]

IC:
Unfortunately for him, Battlegroup Omega and the Tal Shiar were all elite forces and none of them were weak-minded.
IC (Rakoua):
Both forces were quite confused at the configuration of the enemy, but eventually they collected enough scans. Soon, one of the Defiant-class ships destroyed a shield generation dome on one of the enemy ships and fired a quantum torpedo at its command bridge, destroying it and leaving the rest of the ship adrift.

[The Truth]

(New captain): "The Murderous has been destroyed."

(Vitrial): "Do I look like I care?"

(Communicator): "Lightning Fang, we are in position."

(Vitrial): "For kark's sake, STOP CALLING ME THAT!"

(Communicator): "It is your title. Awaiting orders."

(Vitrial): "Show these alien scum what Rakata tech is capable of."

(Communicator): "We will absorb them. All hail Lightning Fang."

An instant later, one of the Federation ships hailed the ship Rakoua was on."


OOC:
1: Reply, but let me control what you hear.

2: Weak-Minded doesn't mean poorly trained or undisciplined. The best soldiers are actually the MOST vulnerable because of their training.

[Rakoua]

OOC: Actually they're not the best soldiers, they're the most elite, with trained minds and everything. Tal Shiar especially, those guys can resist any type of mind control and even mind reading. Battlegroup Omega has the most talented people from Starfleet. But alright.

IC (Rakoua):
"What?" I asked after hearing the hail.

[The Truth]

The officer that answered had once been human, but now resembled something almost like a Borg. Purplish wires ran under its skin, and parts of its body had rapidly decomposed. "You will all be consumed. Machine shall overcome flesh."


OOC: In SWTOR, someone accidentally activates an artefact that turns an entire research station AND the nearby village into those things.  Oh, and it's contagious.

[Rakoua]

IC (Rakoua):
"Borg? But... you aren't Borg... What happened to you? Comm, confirm that!"
"Confirmed..."
"Ian? Do you hear me? Is that still you?"

OOC: Ian is the name of the captain I guess.

[The Truth]

"Ian is long dead, captain...sorry, we didn't catch your name?"

(Communicator on the bridge of Vitrial's ship, the Heartless): "We are preparing to jettison escape pods.  Any ships that pick up the pods will be infected."

OOC: Why would anyone pick up the pods =P
IC (Rakoua):
"I'm captain Rakoua. What did you do to my crewmen!?"
