The sign on the right pointed left, reading "Hare".

The two signs hopped up and switched places with each other. The paths both attempted to switch as well, but being paths and unable to move, they stumbled and became dreadfully mixed up.

all ten of Misu wrapped themselves around him, blocking out the light, and when he opened his eyes, he found himself at a fancy old gate. "Hatter" the sign read, though it had been erased and replaced with "Hare", which in turn had been crossed out and replaced with "Hatter". Such a pattern continued down the sign for ever as it approached a limit near infinity, at which point it read instead "Doormouse".

"You were talking to me about the mattress issue, and then I just suddenly fell asleep on the floor right after you left..." Kaze said with a frown.
"But there's no way I could've gotten to here without you realizing, because I'm admittedly a big klutz, and you said you were staying up for a while..." Kaze said, but that just made him more confused.
"So, what's even going on here...?" Kaze asked, scratching his head; his expression making it obvious that he honestly had no clue what happened.
