OK, can someone please tell me what accessories are really needed for a Wii?

The Wii comes with the system, Wii Sports(game) and one controller and nunchuk. After that, certain games require different controllers. The Wii Motion Plus is a new add on that allows the Wii controller to have better controlling, but I'm not sure how many games use this. For games such as Wii Fit, Wii Ski etc you need a Wii Balance Board.

Other than that, not much is actually needed, but being Nintendo and in a very crazy gaming industry there are many other add ons, such as:
-The many plastic parts that the Wii Remote fits into, which don't do anything but hold the controller in a more natural position for that game(eg a wheel for racing, tennis racket for tennis)
-Wii Speak voice mic (more for online stuff I think, but I don't know much about this).
-Wii Remote Jackets (most are sold with this now I think.
-Wii Classic Controller (a Wii remote designed like older controllers for different gaming)

Bottom Line: You should have 1 Wii Remote per person who will use it(up to 4 max though I think), and 1-2 Nunchuck attachments(some games require the nunchuck, but most use only the remote), and depending on what games you plan on getting the Wii Motion Plus and Balance Board should be purchased.

My family has:
-4 remotes
-1 nunchuk
-1 balance board

And make sure you have a big room with nothing too brakeable. Certain games require other parts, but that's it for the most part.
