Clean it with warm water,  put a clean gauze pad or bandage with a thin layer of Vaseline or antibiotic ointment on it, put the leg up and apply pressure.
Do NOT check to see if it is still bleeding.. that will break the scab.

And don't use alcohol, it just hurts and doesn't help that much. I had a really nasty incident with my knee this summer related to some rocks and such and I only used alcohol on half of it (I didn't see the rest of the damage =P) and it all looked the same.

Peroxide disinfects, it doesn't really clean.  People tend to miss the distinction. Tongue You need to use both. Wink

Do NOT use peroxide on an open wound. It damages the surrounding tissue and slows healing. It also prolongs bleeding.
