Then TF2 wouldn't even be a thing. Or any other Valve game for that matter. "Half-Life" would be a Duke Nukem Forever-esque industry joke. Of course, DNF did eventually get released...

I know you're tired of me talking about it, but:

I think that Lego might actually be able to save LU by adopting the TF2 model: Free game, in game purchases that are not required even to enhance the gameplay experience.

According to PC Gamer, the F2P shift for TF2 increased the playerbase by a factor of 5, and the gross revenue by a factor of FORTY.

And this was a game that already made enough that even before F2P they could continue making updates for free years after it came out and still make a profit.

Just my two cents.

True. And TF2 just had a one-time fee up front before, not a monthly fee.

I still think they should give it a shot.

Isn't announcing this before the free weekend that's supposed to make old players pay again kind of shooting themselves in the foot, though? No way I'd pay for it now, if it's going away in a few months.

Also on the subject of TF2, I'm really ticked off at the fanbase right now.

The Manniversary update broke the game, and it was crashing constantly for both Mac and PC users, though it was more severe for the PC users.

The update three days ago broke it for Mac users, but not PC.

First one: "VALVE THIS IS YOUR FAULT"
Second: "Lol that's what you get for using a Mac noob"

PCs were crashing for about a week even after the "fix" updates that did nothing for them but stopped the problems on Macs were released.

hey, Canama, would you be willing to come over to Lunibook and "adopt" (whitelist) the Minecraft players registered there into the MLNO server?  (You did get it running, right?)  It's pretty much general consensus that if Lego closes down the LU boards/Creation Lab/etc., Minecraft is the logical migration point.

Speaking of which, MSRR, I think you'd enjoy Minecraft.  The building is a bit different, but it's DEFINITELY fun, and if you don't like combat there's Creative mode (not to mention dozens upon dozens of Creative servers for online play).
