At the very least, there will be a notice that SOPA should not be supported because of it's disasterous effects for the internet. Whether anything further will happen, hasn't been decided yet, mostly because I didn't know when the protest and such would happen.

Do you really think they'll keep Youtube up? People might think they'll just go after the small sites, but if they really wanted to, they could take down even Youtube with little effort with this. And really, to cause endless headaches over something like, say, a Sony logo on a poster in the background when you're making a video? That's silly as well, but the US is still trying to do that; and also force it on countries(See: Spain).

Hello.. there is much more to the internet than YouTube.
And YouTube WILL stay up, because they already have disclaimers stating that content is the responsibility of the person posting, and not YouTube. They are liability free in this. If YOU  put up something that isn't yours, you are the one at risk, not YouTube..

But there are many objectionable things about SOPA.. and my fear is that we loose many people's support when we say the sky is falling...

That was but one example, and only because pretty much everyone uses it.

The point is that anything that has any 'copyright violations' can be taken down. It's like the DMCA thing if it was magnified a ton. And that thing is abused as it is; what stops the media people from realizing it's taking too long, and just ordering the plug to be pulled on the site in general, whatever it might be, instead of just pulling down each individual video, and watching as more pop up each successive second?

If it wasn't going to affect these sites; why would Google, Facebook, Twitter; all the major players on the web, why would they be planning this blackout?

There are objectionable things about SOPA. But if people don't realize that there will be major consequences, one way or the other, they might not pay attention to it either way.

Let me list some things this'll disallow:

Pictures with copyrighted stuff, like logos, in the background, or anywhere. So, if you like sports teams, you better be good at photoshopping those out, or if you're at a hockey game or so.
Cover songs. You know, that huge passtime on Youtube and such? Yeah, that's copyrighted lyrics; they'd be gone too as soon as the media people got wind of it. And when things go viral, that probably wouldn't take long.
Podcasts. Not all of them, granted, but any that go for news-like openings to stories, where clips of music plays in the background? Say goodbye to them too; because that also goes against copyrights.
And what about flash games? The moment game companies get on board with this(See: Capcom), you can say goodbye to the flash games, or any sites that have resources meant to help people who wish to do stuff like make comics with sprites; since those are copyrighted.

Those are just a few examples of what could happen, not even based off one site, since there are many different sites that have each be their main purpose.

It'll honestly be more of a detriment to the internet, and if it doesn't outright kill it, it'll more or less need to be text-only; and take it back into the stone ages of the internet. And the bad thing? It won't even stop it's intended effect. Not totally. But it'll take down innocent stuff with it, just because someone didn't think things through.
