Remember the old times...



So very different to how it is now. Before the almost-now-forgotten MLN, when we still had club pages. With many different themes, and many different people. Some themes were simpler, others only by a slight bit (I'm looking at you Bionicle) and some still exist today, although most if not all that do still exist today existed before them as well.

Also, I'm looking forward to Valve's keynote. They've stated that they're revealing nothing new, so Half-Life 3 will obviously be out this holiday season there'll be a lot of info on DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Operations (aka CS:GO).

Also, something I feel that I should tell you all now is that when DOTA 2 comes out it will be free-to-play on Windows and Mac. There will be a store for cosmetic upgrades. (I am so buying this, but you'd have to have played Half-Life 2 to know why.) It's in closed beta right now, so if you get an invite I am so envious.

In other news, what do you think about Nintendo's step into the future? Games for 3DS will be available digitally starting with New Super Mario Bros. 2, and on the Wii U from launch? I'm personally excited!

What part of Japan?  Tokyo?  Yokohama?  If you head down towards Yokosuka, there are some interesting sights there, I remember the earthquake museum, there's Blue Street--heck, you can have tons of fun just exploring the back streets and alleyways of cities.  Just...don't try it in Tokyo itself, OK?  Theseus himself would get lost in that particular maze.

I will, however, be bringing a copy of Pokemon Black or White 2, as they're coming out while I'm there.

And it's technically two trips, both with classmates. I'm leaving for three weeks with 6 others in June (back July 1st) and then going on the 8th with 22 classmates (Including the 6 from before). The first time, I'll be living with a family in Chiba for a week and visiting the son's high school. I've been exchanging emails with him, he seems cool. His mom's an English teacher, so that will be helpful as well. I'm also going to stay with another student in Kyoto, though I've met her in person (She was an exchange student at my school back in March). We'll be visiting Tokyo too, and I don't know what else.

The second trip is being run by the Japanese government and some philanthropic organization. I know that we're going to a town that was affected by last year's earthquake to do volunteer work (Don't remember the name, other than that it contained しま [shima, means island]...), but I'm not sure what else we'll be doing. We haven't received much word on that yet.

I don't know if I'll have computer or internet access, but I will *try* to document the trip. No guarantees.
