yeah, no. I plan on my next laptop being a little more powerful than i need, so its a bit futureproofed, vs a little less powerful than i need.
plus, at the moment i only have a little over that much in my savings account, and i'm note even allowed to use it

System requirements are often wrong, it really depends more on the actual machine. Stuff like TIM make a very large difference. However, I'm pretty sure that integrated graphics doesn't have a chance, and older generation laptop processors don't either. Skyrim's code has very bad optimization.

while i know several people who are very happy with their HPs, i personally have had nothing but bad luck from them.

and the heat issue is probably due to the AMD chips HPs have a habit of using... those things run REALLY hot.

My old HP from 6 years ago still works fine except for the battery and the fact that I have to reinstall windows once, since nobody has done that in 6 years and it has like 2mb of free space =P

It's true about AMD CPUs running really hot... it's really uncomfortable to use in the summer, it can heat up the whole room. I think the exhaust once melted a piece of plastic that I accidentally left near it while I was using my sister's laptop. On the other hand, I've never been able to get my i5 over 70°C, even on full. Of course, I'll have to clean it up soon since the heat's been rising lately.

Also, while I was swimming a week ago, I came across an orange LEGO brick just chilling out in the middle of the sea.
