I kinda have to agree with Canama here; the Zelda series is a good example, since it's labeled an RPG a lot, and the only Zelda game that even remotely has 'RPG' elements in terms of EXP, is Zelda 2. Yet I would agree with some reasons for it being called an RPG. Not all of them, but some.

Truth: Not all RPGs have parties, either. =P I believe the first Dragon quest game had only one party member, and barely any plot aside from 'go kill this and go do this'.

There are many an argument about that. =P I agree with the adventure genre; since that's more of what it is than an RPG, but...

I'm trying to think of a good example of an EXP-less RPG, though.

But, either way, let's just say that Sticker Star is actually a spin-off, and call it a day. Though I still want to try it for myself. =P
