Time Warner (who we use) and many other US ISPs are ACTIVELY BLOCKING YOUTUBE, trying as hard as they possibly can to push users to paid streaming services.

This is, naturally, pushed for by/supported by/started by the US entertainment industry.

I feel like I live in North Korea.

I mean I knew all the big corporations are terrified of Google because they do everything for free,  but this is just crossing a line.


Swearing, even censored, is prohibited in all parts of MLNO except the RPGs. -The Truth

geez, actively BLOCKING the site? That doesn't seem right... At ALL. I'm sure they're overstepping boundaries there. I mean, they're doing the exact same thing everyone has been criticizing for years in regards to China. -_-

/EDIT: Also, Canada doesn't have that problem so far, since our ISPs are luckily not that stupid. I mean, what the heck. That's just wrong.

They're not actually blocking - they're throttling buffer speeds to a pretty much unusable degree.  We're talking 15-20 minutes to load 5 seconds of video (or worse)

So I'm $545 short on the gaming machine.

But guess what happened today? My grandparents visited...

...And will be buying my brother a gaming PC that he's not previously shown an inclination to get on a budget of up to $2,000.

I'm going to go be bitter and materialistic over here.
