Well; it depends, really. Some may be locked-in names, like the LMBs or Minecraft, where to change it, you need to create a new account. So if you decide that the name you have isn't what fits you anymore, but you can change on a place that allows switching, like BZP, then you can change it, but not your other names.
But whereas keeping the same name allows you to have familiarity everywhere.
Now, if I did go for a different synchronization for stuff, then I'd probably stick to a theme involving Blade, just for familiarity. I'd just have to hope it wasn't taken anywhere. =P
