The pro-drug movement among American teenagers really scares me. Now, I live in the UK, so you might say it's irrelevant to me. But the US has a lot of pull in the world, even if we here in Europe don't like to admit that. Whatever the US does will sometimes be copied in other English-speaking countries - the influence is much easier to spread to them than a country with a different language. I think the biggest problem about it is that these teenagers likely do not understand the reality of drug use: so what, it's illegal? How is that bad when it messes with your mind and can easily destroy your life therefore? Stop playing up the positive effects - they're very easily overshadowed by the extreme negative effects. I don't care if you want to 'blaze it', you shouldn't be doing it in the first place. Let's not even get into the much worse long-term effects, which are gradual but very severe. I guarantee you that some of the 'less harmful' drugs will be found to have unforeseen effects. Have you seen how tobacco was put across in the 1940s-60s? And then suddenly, later on, SUDDENLY SIDE EFFECTS? Oh crud! It wasn't as great as they made it out to be! That's totally going to be the case with all the drugs you want to do.

In a lot of cases the first side effect is a wasted life. But there are also long term health issues.. and the side effects issue applies to legal meds as well.. they are so eager for a
cure profit they push to get stuff on the shelves. THREE "safe" diabetes drugs have now been shown to cause heart attacks. And over 1/3 of the population is on tranquilizers, stabilizers, prozac or other mind /mood altering crud. And the same goes for adhd drugs!
Back to drugs, sorry... the other hidden side effect of most drugs is apathy.. End result .. a population who will follow anyone...
