I have almost completely EV trained my "base" competitive team, base meaning the pre-evovled forms. The "almost" comes with my Weavile.

When I was EV training it, I wasn't fully aware about how EV training works. Therefore, I believe it has 255Atk/255Spd instead of 6Hp/252Atk/252Spd. So my question is this:

When I use an EV-lowering berry on each stat, how many EVs are removed?

Duckbot: They don't really have to surpass Arceus, seeing as he's an event legend, they could build on other Pokemon already in the game. Plus, if Gen 5 has an even more serious storyline(If that's even possible after Platinum), then whether or not they've topped Arceus won't matter.

@Duckbot Longname: The first EV removal berry puts the EVs of that stat down to 100(sadly). Each berry after that drops EVs by 10, so to completely remove EVs of any given stat you need a max of 11 berries. You'll 2 berries, and then you'll have to add 152 EVs back onto Atk and Speed, which means a bunch of training...

Farfetch'd needs an evolution, if they ever come out with Gen 5 games. So does Luvdisk. Two awful Pokemon who Game Freak must hate...

I get what you're saying,it does help to predict. And i HATED the old Battle Frontier. I challenged the Pike Queen a few times,but my Rock,Steel and Fire-based team fell flat to her Milotic EVERY time. And i was in a tournament with the guy at the Dome (Tucker? Spencer?), but lost in the first round. Tose were the two times i SAW a Brain.

Ultra or the dive ball-like ball. If possible save your Masterball for the runners or something.

heh. I got further than him in the Emerald Battle Frontier...(But he'll probably get further in the Plat one...)

I wish the Battle Pyramid. It was one of the best or the best, since you actually controled where your person went. Battle Pike was okay, but you could almost always use that women to tell you the correct way to go.

And yes, the Special Physical split is a huge factor in competitive battling. Most pokemon that were good in RSEFRLG are still good, but other pokemon suffered a lot. And with the addition of stronger moves for some types(mainly Rock, with Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, Head Smash(which no one uses) and Rock Wrecker(again, not used, but was added)) some pokemon that were considered walls have been really affected.

Sharpedo(although still UU or NU) is one of the pokemon that really benefitted, with Waterfall and Crunch/Night Slash becoming available.


Still haven't played Plat since about 4 days... no time. But I do hope to get at least one coloured print before HGSS comes out in CAD.

And to get a Ho-Oh, I think you need to gather all three legendary beasts.... I think there's another part since you need the feather I think, but I don't know since I never got Crystal.

I had a friend with Gold version, who also happened to have access to a Gameshark or some cheating device. He put a Celebi onto his Gold, which also is able to duplicta epokemon. One for me and one for him...

The new news is pretty cool. I like that Lati@s are available, although I could care less if Mewtwo is available. I have a Timid Mewtwo(I guess I was lucky) so I won't need another one. My question about the Lati@s is are they unique to respective games(like they were in Ruby and Sapphire)?

As for the new attacks for the lv 1 dragons, I don't really care. I don't have wi-fi to get Arceus, so I won't be able to get one of them. Not sure which one got the best move. Metal Burst could hurt quite a bit, but it also isn't all that reliable. Hydro Pump is powerful, but compared to Surf it isn't a great addition. The atk boost is nice, but the accuracy isn't good. Shadow Sneak is a great STAB move IMO, as it forgets about Giratina's Speed, since its a priority move. I think Giratina got the best move, and Palkia didn't seem t luck out as much...

Ho-oh Lugia info is not really interesting, and neither is Red Gyarados(but every team with Gyarados will now have a shiny lol). The new touch screen games are interesting... although with my luck they'll be wi-fi room games...
