I watched this for the first time on TV today, with my grandson. I''ve never played the game, but I'm going out tomorrow to buy a Play station 3, if pokemon is there, I will, and get back to you then. Just hope that pokemon is available on PS3

Let me explain something to you:
The PS3 is for...suckers who want a Blu-Ray Player. (I apologize to anyone here with a PS3 =P)
The XBox360 is for people who want good graphics and shooters. It can do everything the PS3 can and more, for 100 dollars less.
The Wii is for people who don't mind average graphics but want quality games. If you really crave 1PShooters on the Wii, try the Metroid Prime Trilogy and The Conduit.

Now...as for red...good work. =) But I'd reccomend ditching Kricketune in favor of Scyther when possible. I can't remember when Scyther is available, but...it's a great Pokemon. Especially if you evolve it into Scizor. Then give it Bullet Punch and Swords Dance. =D

Machop...he can be useful when used properly. I'd say Lucario is far better, but there's that issue of not getting it until the 6th Gym...=/

Geodude...do you EV Train? Try to max out its defense and special defensee. That's not easy, especially considering where you are in the game. And...er...well...I don't really know Geodude that well. I believe this is B~T's turn. =P

Legodac: If you want to play the games, get a DS. All the main games are on the handhelds, and are Nintendo-only, because it's a Nintendo franchise.

Scyther does a better job as a Bug Type, and does Heracross. Scyther I think is found in Route 215 (raining) and the foggy route. Heracross, you need to get Honey, and there is a 4% chance of it appearing, so it is a pain to get, but it is worth it eventually.

To evolve Scyther into Scizor, just trade your Scyther and back, holding a Metal Coat. It can be found on wild Bronzor/Bronzong and Magnemite. And if Scyther has Technician as its ability, it boosts moves that have a base power or 60 or lower 1.5x greater, so Bullet Punch will deal 40 x 1.5 = 60 Base Power. If it has Swarm, then just slap X-Scissor on it, and Bllet Punch is still an option, just that it will be less powerful.

Machop, you should be familiar with the line. It does not outclass Lucario in any way, nor does Lucario outclass Machamp. Machamp boasts higher Attack and his Defense and Special Defense, including HP, are enough to make him bulky. Lucario has higher Speed, and Attack/Special Attack, but his defenses are poor. Both are good choices, it just depends on your preference.

Geodude, you are familiar with that. I personally would prefer picking Rhyhorn in favor of Geodude. Rhyhorn is found in Route 214 (Route south of Veilstone) and Victory Road. Although Rhydon and Golem have similar stat distributions, Rhydon can evolve into a better Pokemon, if you trade Rhydon  while having it hold a Protector.

In-game, don't focus too much on EV Training. Just level up your Pokemon as much as you can.

If you thought the First and Second Gyms were easy, Fantina is a far cry from "easy". Her most threatening Pokemon is...  an evolution from a Johto Pokemon.

EVs and IVs did exist back in the days or GSC, and even further back to the first games. However, the game mechanics were very different back then.

I'd recommend replacing Graveler with Rhyhorn, and after Level 42, it will evolve into Rhydon. If you don't like to Level up late, or trading away items for evolution, then I guess Graveler is okay, just that the evolved Rhydon is waaay more powerful, and could possible have a better ability. An Elite Four member of the game uses one.

Togepi evolves into Togetic after being happy, right? Now, Togetic has a new evolution, if you use a Shiny Stone found on Iron Island later in the game on it. If it has Serene Grace for an Ability, teach it Air Slash with help from a Move Relearner in Pastoria City, and if you see Pokemon flinching ~60% of the time, it will be a useful addition to your team. Also teach it Aura Sphere. Before you evolve it into Togekiss, teach Togetic Ancient Power for a chance to boost stats at Level 33. You can put Magical Leaf on it if you detest evasion moves and/or hax *coughDoubleTeamcoughSandAttackcough*. Otherwise use a Move TUtor to teach it Special Attack Moves, or use TMs.

And Luxray? Pachirisu is a lot better. Its movepool is very diverse, especially since it can learn the majority of Move Tutor moves, such as Seed Bomb, a Grass move that finds its way out of being resisted by Ground Types. Plus, it has the incredibly-useful Super Fang that only Bibarel in Pre-E4 knows. It chips off half the opponent's current HP. And even better? It has more Speed and Special Defense than Luxray!

Obviously, Luxray is the better choice. He has high Attack power to be abused. However, his movepool is very shallow, and his strongest STAB Physical Attack is Spark and Thunder Fang, and they aren't that powerful at all at 65 Base Power.

Not to mention that Pachirisu's base stats for both Attack and Special Attack are both at 45, which is veeeery low.

Overall, your team looks good and very diverse.

I just got passed the iron island stuff, and my game froze.  Everytime I put my game in the ds, it doesnt load on to the ds menu screen, it freezes everytime.  Is there a way to fix this?

other games work just fine.  For some reason everytime I start up the ds with that game in it, it freezes right before it says "touch to continue" ive been looking online for some possible fixes.  My team was starting to look pretty beast.

That's just weird. =/ Is there any stuff on the connectors of the card? And just to make sure, the previous owner didn't use an AR or anything, did they? Just wanna check to make sure, as I've heard freezing be a symptom before, but I kinda doubt it'd be one here. Especially when it's not getting to the DS menu yet...

I just bought the ds refurbished, and the game was my friends, that works at eb games, he got it free.  So the game was essentially new.

Can you describe what it's like when you turn it on? And what type is it, like a DS Phat, DS Lite, or DSi?

it goes to the white screen and makes the dada noise and freezes right before it says "touch to continue"

Hmm. Does it make any type of screeching noise when it goes to that screen? Have you tried blowing into the DS's connectors? Does it respond at all to any touch or button commands?
