Yargh...I'm training my VGC 2011 team at the last minute, and I have a dilemma. I was planning to lead with Jellicent and Ferrothorn (the latter setting up Sandstorm for mah Excadrill), but now I'm worried about leading with two Defensive/Stall-oriented Pokemon in an offense-oriented tournament. The idea was Jellicent would bleed off any opposing Pokemon, while Ferrothorn set up Sandstorm and subsequently Spikes (breeding Spikes into a Ferroseed was not fun ) and do the same. In particular, this would keep Rapid Spinners in check, since their only option would be attacking Ferrothorn, from whom they would take damage by Iron Barbs.

The problem is, this strategy depends on one of those two going down within the duration of the Sandstorm, and once it ends, Excadrill's in trouble. I want to still lead with Ferro/Jellicent, but that would require me to revise my Sandstorm strategy or remove Exca entirely, which I can't really afford to do.

ADVICE? =P And no, Landorus isn't really an option...

It doesn't have Sandstorm support, but what about Golurk? It wouldn't take damage from sandstorm, and is generally a hard-hitting Pokemon, from my understanding.

I don't have a moveset for it, however.

Not sure if the tournament's still on but you could try Archeops or Krookodile. They can hit hard and (I think) have a good variety of moves. Also, Archeops@Flying gem+ Acrobatics is a devastating combo.

I'm assuming your starter's Smugleaf?

I'm recommend, to replace your water type, Samurott... But that's depending on your starter, and what you have access to.

To replace Conkeldurr, put in something like one of the version exclusive psychics, or another one.

Additionally, I'd recommend replacing Galvantula with Eelektross, but I'm not sure if you'd want to take the effort required to get it's best moves. =P The rest seem pretty good, however... I'm not sure if a physical Scpetile is the best. Haven't looked at base stats recently, but I had thought Sceptile was special orientated.

I did start off with Smugleaf, so no Samurott for me (I don't even like them anyways).

The version exclusive are too slow for my liking, I was thinking of Meinshao for replacing Conkeldurr.

Galvantula isn't going any where, he'll always be my Fuzzels (plus my little brother already has an Electross, I wouldn't want to 'copy' him).

My Treeko happened to be jolly nature, that's why it's physically oriented.

1. You might not like Samurott, but there's no denying it's attack stats are very high.

2. I was going to suggest Mienshao, but I wasn't sure if you'd want to replace a pure fighting type with another pure fighting type. =)

3. Alright then. =P I would recommend adding an Air Balloon as the item, for fighting in places where there's no chance of losing the item.(Like the battle facilities or wireless battles)

5. As a replacement for Simipour; I would recommend training up an Axew into a Haxorus. It might not have a water-type move; but since you say that your bro has an Eelektross; you can use Mold Breaker against him to take the Eelektross down with an Earthquake. Unless he has a Haxorus already. Then I'm not sure what Mold Breaker you'd want to use.

EDIT: *I'm not sure if accuracy-lowering moves count towards Evasion clause... I really dunno...

But I will admit, I haven't battled in a long time, and my skills are pretty rusty. Also, I don't have much experience w/ 3 vs. 3.

2. To be honest? I haven't battled for fun, yet competitively, for quite a while. I've battled competitively, but not against any forum members. =P So I was likely rusty myself. Plus, I'm still getting used to 3 on 3 myself. It was only luck that I fainted two of your Pokemon before we got DCed. =P

To anyone: That being said; if anyone would like to battle, I'm accepting battles... On Black and White. That's important, since that's where all my good Pokemon are now. =P

Also, I had a close encounter once. There was a Simisear left, and all I had left was my Scolipede. It survived a Rock Slide... with 7 HP left. I won in the end tho. And there was this Alomomola who walled like my entire team... >_>
