Hey MsRR, I have another duper. While small, it's still duping.

I agree that the dupers take away the competiveness of the game.  It is unquestionably unfair to compare your advancement to that of someone with thirty different accounts - but with that said - does LEGO care?  I would imagine they could simply enforce one account per computer or address, but I think a majority of the people who have progressed through the levels have cheated by duping.  I would say this is true regarding those members who run the stores on this forum.  As such, has LEGO indicated they are willing to do anything about this?     I am not accusing anyone yet, but I see a lot of suspicious members.

Hey Bittner, have you read the past few pages? Yes, we all know everyone doesn't like duping, except for dupers. Got that part. And LEGO does care, because if you had read any of the past pages, you would've seen that LEGO customer service (an actual person) replied saying "thank you for telling us about this, we appreciate it", or something to that extent.

Yet, when you look up the accounts for everyone that has duped...LEGO appears to have nothing done about.  In fact, LEGO appears to be featuring some of the dupe users.  OK, I hope the "Thank you" letter recieved leads to something more. 

It's nice knowing that I'm aggitating the administrators as a newbie.

If you had read my "Personal Text" area, you would've seen I am no longer an Admin. Anyways, BOT.

The Featured Users hasn't changed in a long time, about 4 months I'm pretty sure. In the Top 10, it works by number of Clicks total, as well as number of Clicks daily. So the dupers will be getting about, lets say, 500 Clicks a day, which in a week is 3500 Clicks, in a month, it could be 14,000 Clicks a month. Quite a bit. That could get you through the ranks in merely a month, which is how most do it. HOWEVER, duping is a long and tedious process requiring much patience, as you must be constantly logging dupe accounts on and off to do your work, which is mass-clicking certain modules on your page; then you must log on to the "main account", harvesting to make sure you are getting the max resources you can from this duping.

Remember when lego made the LEGO ID half a year ago? I tried to register, not knowing I just had to reactivate the account, with the same name (Jas765). It wouldn't let me, and suggested Jas579. I started to use that. Around a month later, I found out I still had Jas765, so I went back to using that account. I didn't want to waste it (I was up to rank 3 on MLN), so it's my 'helper' account - if I need clicks, it'll give them to me.

That's the only dupe I have - I'm not a 'super duper'.

I have a team, with my friends, that goes to my house to clicks my modules and do trades. They are interesyted in other games, so sometimes the lower rank people won't come. This may upset you, but i have a question.

I have been following this discussion and have a few questions.

First I understand if someone has 10+ dupes this is a problem and LEGO can confirm by checking IP addresses.  I just want to say you need to be careful with folks you think might have 1 or 2 dupes.  These folks could be family members that play on the same computer and use similar account names but actually do have a real person behind the account.

For example "zkingsley" is a relative of mine and we do share a computer sometimes.  He does not play quite as much as I do but he has been playing a bit lately (Just got to Rank 5 poor guy...).  We occasionally help each other but in general we do not as I play all the time and trade clicks with a single user almost exclusively with small exceptions. 

So our user names are similar and our IP addresses will match if searched but we have real people behind the accounts.


Second,  I found a user by chance with a similar name "MattKingsley".  I have never met this person but the user name is similar so I thought it would be fun to see if we could become MLN buddies. 

Again, has the appearance of a possible Dupe but this one would fail the IP test as I have no idea who this person really is.


I guess all I am saying is that large scale obvious duping is a problem and should be reported but smaller stuff we sould be careful with.  You don't want LEGO to get tired of a bunch of reports of somebody who may or may not have one or two dupes.  Go for the Big fish first, I have seen a lot myself and will start cataloging them, but I would lay off the little fish that are real hard to prove for now as you just don't know.
