White lies are used to stop people from getting hurt emotionally (eg.a friend wants to come over to your house. You suddenly find out that they can't, but the friend doesn't know. If they did know, they would be hurt a lot. So you have to use a white lie to stop them getting hurt) My Social Teacher taught me that. And I go to a VERY reliable school... duping would be OK, due to the numbers of people who do it.
And I think the mods want the posts to be BOT... if that was OT< no point in posting. That. was. not. a. good. example. of. what. you. are. trying. to. say.

Just because your Social Teacher said it does not make it universally true. I understand the concept of a white lie... like telling someone that a meal tastes delicious when it is horrible, but ultimately that leads to more bed meals. A far mor noble think would be to gently tell the cook how much you appreciate their cooking, but yoy think the recipe said a teaspoon of salt, not a cup. How else is the cook to ever improve at cooking??
Honesty remains the best policy. Diplomacy does not require lying. There is an ethics topic in off topic discussion (not debates) if you wish to continue the conversation.

some people can say bad things in a nice way, while others cannot. like if someone bad at saying bad things in a nice way, if they didn't like their friends shirt, they would say "that shirt looks awful on u". but someone good at saying bad things in a nice way, in the same incident, would say "nice shirt u r wearing 2day, but i think you look way better in ur other shirts. same thing but different wording and one is nicer than the other here is an argument sry for the 1337 and off-topic-ness |
