I concede you may have been busy elsewhere, however I can't agree with your statement about further disruption when peoples feelings where about to be hurt. If admins don't argue now and then that usually means you're not going anywhere.
I would question the perceived effectiveness of an unstable government warring against itself. We don't need members to think the leaders are fighting for control of the forum. It seemed better to me at the time to let Blade do his thing and tell anyone that PMed me (when I was on at least) that things were alright.
