I'll just say, use SNOT building techniques.

LD: What he means, is use blue semi-transparent LEGO bricks for the water.

The most important virtue in building is patience. If you have it, you can build large creations with 'cheating' tehniques like the plate between two studs tehnique or any other one that stresses LEGO pieces or is wobbly.

Here's a little tip and is also a technic I like to use. As a matter of fact I'm using it right now while I build a creation for Apocofest. I simply choose 1 or 2 complete kits, one kit that has the bulk of what pieces I think I'll need and then smaller kit that provides me with a few extra Technic pieces. The advantage is the time you save in looking for specific pieces, everything is right there in front of you, the challenge is to create something else out of another kit. When I'm finished, I'll post here again to give you some more details

Anyone have tips on making snow? I'm going to build a gigantic mountain and a base inside it getting ready to fight another base, but I'm trying to get tips for the mountain besides using just white.

What's important about any landscape, not just snow, is that you give it texture and realism. Imagine how snow looks to you in real life - and then try to replicate it in LEGO bricks. Using a lot of slopes and 1x1 plates can be very helpful. If you want, you can even do a little research and take a look at how some other builders have rendered snow in their creations.

I already knew that and have done it, but I think I'll check out how other LEGO builders made their creations.

Sam, you've discluded beige bricks as a way to make snow, with the right lighting, placing of bricks, your skill as a photo gography guy, beige works well, trust me, and try it.

In the shadows of your model and the places that are implied to have heavy traffic

You need to clarify that one buddy, are you talking about shining light on your model or putting lights into it as an effect?

Now I have a question for anyone who wants to answer, I need your help. I'm doing research on my next MOC, you see I like to copy things from real life once in a while. I want to build the tank from Indiana Jones and the last Crusade, something Lego hasn't done yet. The official website to Indy is devoid of the pic I require. In addition and to make matters more difficult, my DVD player is on the fritz. But it occurred to me that I can use my pc to view the movie.

My question is this: is it possible for me to pause a movie on my PC so that I may creat a picture of the image with my printer?

Doing so will allow me to create a more realistic model and also research further into what tank it is. I think it's a modified version of the British MK V, if so , I can find further specs in my Library or on the net. But the picture from the movie is most important.

Please help, thanks

This is what I found, not sure if it's it... Looks like a Mark IV to me, but I'm no expert.
