The thing about cliches; is that they're everywhere. I honestly don't think there's anything that's not been done before... The key is to make things not seem boring; to give an original twist. Like things not really being 'fated' or anything.

Besides, it's not really a 'cliche', so much as it is people continuing a thousands of years long ideal. The idea of people being 'chosen' for adventures have been around for a really long time, since the Greek mythology days or possibly even longer. It just got a lot more fictional in recent years.

Also, if someone believes they're chosen, then that's their issue. xD
