Hmm...well, I'm not a professional, but there are some standard things I'd try: Update drivers and BIOS, defrag, delete temp files, check for Registry errors, run a virus scan...

HELLO...
This all started when I downloaded windows live and subsequently removed. Live acted as an update and removed my restore points.
Anyhow, for some reason I have  had to start system restore in safe mode for several years. Never an issue before I couldn't get into safe mode.

( and actually I know the "some reason" it has to do with newer versions of Norton .. NO i will not switch to AVG)

McAfee does the same thing.
At any rate, Sys Restore is not the issue, getting into safe mode is... and still is. $149 later. GRRR

if you do, you can put it in and use the "repair" feature. that should patch any figurative holes in your computer's OS, and it will retain all your files, programs, and settings. Wink
