*Coming back from inactivity*
Mhm, quite an interesting forum, I like the structure and design of the forum, and I do indeed love the preamble, and the constituition, with the freedom of debates, it is quite nice to hear organization and control of such a highly motivated forum, and I might add quite strategic to show that someone is knowing how to take some control, and have for any nuisance, even if coming from a moderator or even an admin. I really do feel that this forum made will be a very nice and excellent move forward here.
However, I do express many questions about this, and very intentionally even calling my depature in MLNO, I feel like this would be a very nice restart, and I have to say impressive work with a logo, preamble, constituion, and the forum itself also having some kind of protocol when someone is being inactive and deleting. I still want to ask some questions about amendments to the constitution and the very safety of the forum. The protocols when some hacking or very much cordinative "attack" to a forum, what sort of protocols would be in place, what can happen, and also this one is important for me:
How can this forum be able to help and provide its members of the safety and happiness in this forum, or a stable community, how fun, and how this community extends, makes projects, and makes extensions to itself and becoming a growing healthy forum. Exactly how and more importantly, will that administration be able to conduct such things. I think we can assume that this forum promotes debates, but also can we have contests cordinated with events, can we propose new events any month, or anything in between. Can we institute awards, badges, or any system to ensure some kind of "Identity" to any member of the community.
Mhm... 48 minutes... Well, I hope this forum would be a success, but still something I want to ask, this to the administrators and founders, How will buvee be different, and much of a successor than MLNO, will it ever be? What differences and similiarties? Strengths and Weaknesses? And how can you avoid the weaknesses, or can you? What would also be your opinion on Buvee's future?
I'll let DJ answer the first two, not sure if I can answer them.
3) Yes, we do expect to be holding contests, some of which may differ quite a bit from MLNO's contests (still keeping MotM though). We will hold events, almost certainly.
4) We have awards, with rep and "likes" on posts, which help you to gain rep. We can also give a member special titles (I'll look into badges).
5) Buvee, although it is mostly LEGO based, is the successor of LUO. Therefore we will focus on LEGO Universe very much, as we already have an RPG "Faction Wars" set up and ready to go based on the areas in LEGO Universe. We also have blogs and a gallery built in. Strengths? We run on a server which seems to offer more flexibility on the design of the forum. We have an amazing chat system, way better than the ones we've had at LUO. The rich text option in your profile allows you to view posts and PMs without, what can often be complicated, BBCode. So you basically preview the post without pressing preview. Weaknesses? I'll be honest, paying is a bit of a pain (but Walt, who pays, gets the money back via Google Ads, whom we are asking to view the forum and try and get some ads up).
6) My opinion on Buvee's future... well I
hope it will become a popular success. We have considered later on when Buvee gets running fully using some ad money to provide prizes (like e-vouchers for example) which will be a good point of the forum, but that's quite a while off yet. I estimate by the end of two months we might have approx... 50 members? Possibly slowing down slightly to 100 as we progress through the year, but when LU comes out, we should have another burst of members hopefully. We have already advertised at LUO and are considering at some other sites we know off/are affiliated with.
