J dashes to the bushes next to the restaurant and pulls off the vent cover.  "Come on," she whispers to Lloyd, "we have to hurry!  She could make a move any second now!"

Lloyd sighed.
"Trust me; it won't be her that does that." Lloyd said with a slight chuckle, inwardly wondering how he got into this, but then nodded, and slowly crawled into the vent.

Carrie's eyes widened, as she froze in shock, and =then whipped out her own gun and pointed it at Bade.
"What did you do to him?" Carrie asked; likely widely misinterpreting the scene.

Also, I didn't inherently recognize it(I've never read those books before); but I did guess via sounding it out, and a quick Wikipedia search explained it all. =P

Also, your characters seem to have references or seeming spoofs to them; at least the last two. =P

"... Say what?" Carrie asked, as she scratched her head.

Carrie slapped her palm to her face.
"Would someone start making some sense, and explain what's going on?" Carrie asked with an annoyed sigh.

"No, no, Isabella, the butler.  It's always the butler.  No need to get...this..." Bade trails off as he sees Carrie's face.  He is obviously (and comically) smitten.  He quickly regains his composure...or at least, as close to "composed" as he ever got.  "Sorry about that, Sugar Lips.  The rookie's a bit new to this business.  Doesn't understand the rules of the case.  But you...someone with a face like that could never be a killer.  And I gotta say, Sugar Lips, it's quite the face.  You've got my Soul Energy racing, if ya know what I mean."

Shiza: "Soul Energy?  What level are you at?"

"I dunno, kid.  But they're risin' faster every second I stare into her deep brown eyes..."

As J and Lloyd crawl through the air ducts, they move as quickly as they can.  Thus, they don't see the loose grating beneath them, and they don't have enough time to grab a hold before they fall through.

"Aaaaaaaaa--!"

They land in the kitchen with a splat and a poof.  When the dust clears, J's head is covered in chocolate cake batter, and Lloyd is so covered in flour he could pass for a ghost.  J quickly wipes her face clear of the brown goop and drags Lloyd underneath the dessert cart before any of the chefs can come to investigate the noise.  A waiter comes and begins pushing the cart into the dining room...

Carrie just stood there, speechless at how little sense anyone was making, while a bead of sweat ran down her face because of the weird guy's obvious attempt to hit on her.
Oh boy... What'd I get myself into... Carrie thought, and then randomly nodded, as if to show she was actually listening to the guy.
"Still haven't explained what you're doing with that." Carrie said, as she pointed to the fingers.

Lloyd simply blinked, as he scratched his head silently, which sent up a slight bit of the flour from when he landed.
I... Don't know if this plan was thought through all the way... Lloyd thought, though he didn't sigh, since he might accidentally give them away.

(Rose): "Lloyd, why are you interrupting our date? If you want a date too, you can ask normally."

OOC: Erm, I don't believe Rose can see us yet. =P

Especially since we're under a dessert cart. =P

OOC: For clarity, J now looks almost exactly like Rose; this should be interesting.  Also, yes, I'm aware that's not really how Soul Energy charges; he's...not exactly in control of it.  In fact, I'm surprised he even knows what it's called; maybe that's an inherent aspect of insane people who use Soul Energy or something.

"Oh, Sugar Lips, just hearin' your voice makes my Soul Energy rise to the max..."

The next moment, everything went black.

No, wait, that's not black, it's...brown?!  Wait a minute...why is the world sepia-toned?  And why is everyone wearing clothes from the 1950s?! And where is that music coming from?!?  And--

Meanwhile, Bade doesn't miss a beat, but begins a monologue, apparently to an invisible "audience".  "So the dame wants ta know my story?  If only she knew...if only she knew.

"A dark night, in a city where the line between cops and criminals is about as clear as a dark thread at midnight.  But one man still seeks the answers to life's unsolved mysteries.  That's me.  Zamz Bade.  Private Eye.

"It was a Friday night in the big city.  And a Friday night's the only night you won'tl find me in my office, watching the clock.  Because on a Friday night I'm on the prowl, findin' trouble before it finds me.  So when word at the local bar said there's be action with the feds at their offices I decided to go have a look-see.

"When I got there the place was trashed.  And I don't mean like you left the dishes in the sink, clothes on the floor, and forgot to make your bed.  The place was leveled.  Gone. Zip. Nada.  So that's when I knew I had to check things out.  I was just about to venture inside the wreckage when these little trinkets fell outta the sky.  They landed right next to a bunch of tracks leadin' to this place.  And that was the break I needed.  That's when I knew: someone had chased a poor robot there, and murdered him in cold blood by blowin' the place up.  And the person-or should I say monster-who did it...is YOU!"  Bade points accusingly at E.R.I.N., but a Phoenix Wright lookalike in a silvery gray suit stands in the way, pointing dramatically back at Bade.

"OBJECTION!!!!" Servo says, and is heard by all.  Suddenly, a delicate hand appears on his shoulder and gently moves him out of the way.  A woman, who looks a lot like a young Jeri Ryan wearing Willie Scott's dress from the nightclub in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, steps forward to address her accuser.

"First, I'm not a butler.  I'm a maid.  Second, I'm not really a maid, I just play one on TV.  Third, I'm an actress; I play the roles I need to as they come along.  Fourth, That means that, even if I did murder this poor, poor soul, I wouldn't be a killer; I'd be the mastermind, and Fifth...how doe we even know he's dead in the first place?"  E.R.I.N. turns to the rest of the crowd.  "Is there any way we can take a roll call of everyone who's here?  That way we can see if this...fine gentleman's claims have any merit to them."  She turns back to Bade.  "That seem like a fair compromise to you, Bade?"

Bade shrugs.  "Let the games begin, doll."

Lloyd accidentally trips the waiter, dumping both him and j on the ground next to Rose and Adrian.  "General!"

OOC: Zomg wall of text!
OOC: Blade, have Lloyd get the urge to spook Adrian.  It'll be hilarious.

IC: Rose and Adrian turned to stare at Lloyd and J.

Lloyd hid a smirk, and then became serious, as he looked at Adrian, and put on a >=( face, and spoke eerily to Adrian, as he had gotten some of the flour caught in his throat.
"Yoooouu did thiiiiis. Yooooou diiiiiiid." Lloyd said, as his face turned to one of D=.

Carrie just stared blankly again; unsure of anything to say right now, as things were getting weirder by the minute.

Lloyd then turned to Rose, and shook his head.
"Nooooo... Iiiii am nooooot. Iiiii aaaaaaam opposed. I haaaaave flooooour in my throoooooat..." Lloyd explained, with the same D= face.
"Iiiiii ooooonly juuuuuust realiiiiiized thaaaaat."

"Sorry 'bout that." Lloyd stated, and blinked, as he thought for a second.

(Rose): "So..why are you with someone that looks like me?"

(Adrian): "Well...almost like you. You're..er.."

*nervous chuckle*

(Rose): "No need to finish that sentence, Adrian.  We all know what you're going to say."
