"It began a little over two hundred years ago. Mankind had just succeeded in something we'd been attempting for decades: establishing a self-sustaining colony on Mars. But only a week afterwards, the being known as The Other appeared. He created a giant display over every city on Earth so we could watch as he obliterated the colony. He announced that the same fate would befall any others that dared leave Earth."
Chargas paused, then continued, "We tried to fight back. The battleships you destroyed, Glory Towers...they were all built to fight The Other. But he destroyed everything we sent at him, and finally, we had no choice but to surrender. He told us that the next time humans left Earth's atmosphere, he would wipe out the entire species."
He sighed.
"Finally, we decided that we would need a strong global government to force people to obey The Other's orders. The Empire was formed, and for my valiant efforts to fight The Other, I was made Emperor."
