Freeze Ray Frenzy!

Well, here it is! The Space Police Freeze Ray Frenzy. I'll start the review.... now!

First Impressions
The build was simple yet rather enjoyable, as it contains an alien, Kranxx, which is awesome. The bikes seem to be sturdy enough, and I love the huge flame at the back of Kranxx' bike. The Space Police vehicle only really falls apart if you drop it from above your ahead, and the flick fire missiles work reasonably well as they are wedged in between two bricks. The helmets are neat as well, with the visor only covering the eyes. This set seems good so far!
9.7/10

Playability
On it's own, you can't play with this set much. It's mainly a starter set to Space Police, with a small price tag, which is always good. However, using bits of LEGO, my brother and I have built a small base, where Kranxx is being chased round the corner of the building by the Space Police. You need more sets to have a good time with it, but if you don't want to get a new set, you could always use Kranxx' head for MOCing or something.
6.2/10

Value for Money
This set is good value for money, to start. It's only $9.99 (£8.79), and you get two bikes, an alien and a police officer! Then there's a stop sign and traffic light, perfect for making comic scenes in stop motions where something random is going on in the background. You get a total of 80 bricks, and a huge flame only available in about five sets so far.
9/10

Conclusion
Freeze Ray Frenzy is a brilliant little gift to start Space Police, and I'd recommend it to anyone (who likes LEGO that is).
Average Rating = 8.3/10
Now, go get this set!

No problem, DT. Wink I was going to allow double reviews, but I decided I'd wait until this board had a mod, which it does now! Grin

Alright, here's the thing:

To get to know Lego Space a little better, I've decided to get to know the series a little better. As such, I'm planning to get a set soonish.

Does anyone have a reccomendation for a set for a kid with a pretty big budget (I get a good allowence and I've been saving for a while) looking for a quality build and a good starter set? (sort of trying to bring this topic and this board back to life)

Very impressive reviews MsRR. =)

Now, if you don't mind, I think I'll merge this with Lego Space Reviews...

...I merged MsRR's topic with this, and it didn't work how I planned. >_>

I'll try to fix this...unless you don't mind if MsRR started this topic, TBD. Grin
