"Look," he begins, somewhat kindly.  "We still have to deal with the Chosen Ones.  Now, you may know your career with the Guardians is over, and I may know your career with the Guardians is over, but they don't know that."  There is a clicking sound, and Sonia's bonds are released.  "As of now--" Aki presents a new uniform to the ex-Guardian, with surprising gingerness "--you are, as far as the outside world is concerned, reinstated to command of this base.  However..." the floor creaks, Aki's face darkens, and an array of elemental forces converge slowly, menacingly upon her form.  Aki speaks slowly, deliberately, and with menacinging clarity. "Make no mistake.  I own you.  You do what I tell you, you say what I tell you, you think what I tell you.  If I say jump, you say 'how high?'.  I am in charge of this operation, and it is not going to get screwed up by overeager, sentimental incompetence.  Do I make myself understood?"  The elemental pressure is released, and the room goes back to normal.  "More than just the balance of power depends on you.  Lives depend on you.  Do not fail us again."  The last line was almost a plea as much as a warning, but Aki said no more, leaning back and waiting for Sonia's response.

Sonia was rather surprised, however, she nodded, not sure what else to do.
"A-alright, then..." Sonia said, not sure of why Aki's personality changed so much.

Aki nodded, then stood and gestured for Sonia to do the same.  "Come.  The recess will be over soon.  There is one more thing I must bring before Neo and the council."

"So, now that we have resumed, it is time we turn our thoughts to the future.  Our plans, my friends.  Thus far, some of our plans have been successful, but too many have not."  Aki surveys the room, noticing some degree of grudging interest on most of the faces.  Good.  "This one," Aki said, gesturing toward the ex-Guardian he had stripped of her Chaos Code mere hours previously, "was the result of and old plan, an old way of thinking."  Aki noted Naikage's disapproving look, and directed the next part of his speech to address her.  "Now--it was by no means a bad plan.  But it was misdirected, and, I need hardly say, poorly executed upon the front end.  You operated from old information, intelligence that was far out of date.  You relied too strongly on familial relationships--relationships that we have proven to be easily torn, easily repudiated.  We must instead focus our efforts on a more delicate--and yet far more compelling--type of connection."  Aki pauses for effect, and begins pacing around the room.  "Earlier I spoke of a weakness--or rather, that of the Inner Ki Being that shares my form."  Aki grins predatorally, even as anguish rips through his heart.  "Love.  My inner self was in love.  With a girl.  A female girl.  Of the female sort.  Attractive little wench, flowing hair, soulful eyes, the whole jazz.  But I...I was stronger than that, and so I ruthlessly exploited his desire, to twist his mind, until he fell completely within my own domination."  Aki removes a small, 6-inch long, flat rectangular device from his pack, rotating it in his hands but concealing the other side from his audience.  "Ladies and gentlemen, that...is a most potent desire, one we can devilishly enslave to our own ends.  And I have an ideal target, one who will tear apart not one, not two, but three of the Chosen Ones' strongest fighters--and ironically, it's the exact same girl that would prevent my inner self's full cooperation in the total annhiliation of the Chosen Ones.  Fellow Guardians--Master Neo--may I present our next target, our next recruit, and our next Candidate--"  Aki throws the device--a small digital photo frame--on the table, and the electronics within project the image in midair for all in the room to see.

"I am certainly intrigued." Neo stated, though inwardly wondered why Sonia had been brought back to the chamber.
"That is all, miss Lanation, you can go." Neo stated, as the doors opened to reveal the guard from earlier, who would escort her elsewhere.
"This plan could work well. However, could it be easily compromised?" Neo inquired, not sure about that, and looked to Aki inquisitively.

-==IC: Sonia==-

"Get in there." The guard said, as he shoved Sonia into the teleporter, and then closed the doors to it.
"I don't know what Neo is thinking, but... Well, I'm sure we'll find out." The guard stated, as he punched in the coordinates, and Sonia looked surprised, but then disappeared... Reappearing not far from where Kaze and the others were at that particular moment; to be specific, shortly after Rakoua had mentioned about no-one ambushing them.

OOC: Let's go.

"If we approach this slowly, cautiously, taking her before the Chosen Ones realize she is gone, then no, it cannot be easily compromised.  If we try to fight our way in, however...well..."  Aki pauses for a moment.  "Even if our forces screw this up, I have a backup plan.  But it would not be as efficient, nor would it be as effective.  I recommend stealth and subterfuge--after all, we ARE going to trick the girl into coming to us."

"Hmm... Alright then. Can you work so that it happens tomorrow?" Neo inquired, as he had an idea, and he didn't want it messed up.

OOC: I think you're with kaze and the others just outside of town, dealing with Rakoua's sudden new trait of being-dead-ness.   Oh, and I think Sonia just showed up.

Aki tilts his head and performs some mental calculations.  "If you try for a smash-and-grab, maybe, just instruct your team to make it look like an accident.  This operation would work much, much better over time, though, especially for inserting Brooke into their team.  But, as long as no one knows Skye is the intended target, it shouldn't harm our long-term operations."

[Rakoua]

IC (Alt Rakoua):
Seemingly indifferent to seeing myself getting shot by a crossbow bolt to the head, I just followed the others.

OOC: does anyone remember if Kale got killed or not (Skye's brother)?

IC: Skye

Skye wasn't sure what to think about everything that had just happened. First they were ambushed, two Rakouas showed up, then Kaze mysteriously appeared, and now everyone seemed to be defying death by still being alive. Skye's head hurt just trying to make sense of it... She stuck close to Sakeo.

OOC: Nope, he hasn't; presumably, he would've been rescued with the others. I left the fates of everyone in the school when the Hunters attacked last chapter enigmatic in case anyone wished to return. =D

Kaze looked to the right quickly, just to make sure they weren't being followed, and then looked forward again, and then blinked. He quickly shook his head, and looked to the right again, as he actually noticed Sonia again this time, and frowned.
"What do you want?" Kaze asked, curiously, as Sonia blinked, and frowned.
"What do I want? What do you mean; you're the one suddenly acting as if I'm going to kill you now..." Sonia said, as she understood why, but; she guessed they hadn't heard the memo. Kaze frowned, and sighed.
"... Well, if you're here to attack us, then I'll fight." Kaze said, as Sonia stepped back, a frown on her face.
"No, wait, I-" Sonia started to say, barely having time to draw her sword, before Kaze attacked, slicing her right arm slightly, as Kaze frowned.
"Where's the overconfidence you had before? Gone with my willingness to fight?" Kaze asked, as he stepped back, and Sonia winced, as she began to heal her wound with Ki, causing Kaze to pause.
"Wait; what? You're a Guardian; you should be able to heal without Ki..." Kaze said, as he put his sword away, which caused Sonia to sigh.
"That's what I was trying to say... I'm not a Guardian anymore... I have my element still, because that was my element, but I'm not a Guardian... I'm just me." Sonia said, which caused Kaze to look shocked, but then nodded, as he turned around.
"Well then... What are we waiting for? Back to Terakou." Kaze said with a smile, as he finally noticed what he was missing earlier... Her eyes were normal once more; unlike how they were empty-looking back at the Training Camp.

"I think it'll work well." Neo said with a smirk, as he nodded.
"Send word to Naikage when everything is ready. You should know when that is." Neo stated, as he leaned back in his chair, awaiting his imminent victory...

Kaze raised an eyebrow, as he reached the location where the school was; now there was a relatively futuristic-looking building, that looked more like a command centre should. Kazuki walked out, and smiled, though he seemed slightly surprised to see Kaze.
"I knew I saw you earlier." Kazuki stated, referring to when he was giving the speech in the caravan.
"It was that obvious, huh?" Kaze asked, with a chuckle, as he scratched the back of his head.
"I like what you've done with the place." Kaze said, referring to the new building, as he began to walk inside, and then looked around, pretty impressed. Kazuki nodded, as a relatively young man, who looked to be around 22 years old, stood near the entrance.
"Also; while you all were at the Training Camp, we got a new recruit. He's more used to hand-to-hand fighting, due to years of fighting on the streets before discovering his powers, but he should do well for teaching you some new techniques." Kazuki explained, as the man nodded.
"My name is Shinji. Hopefully you'll all accept me, despite being new to this region." Shinji said with a disarmingly charming smile, as Kaze frowned slightly, not sure about the new guy, but nodded.
"Nice to meet you. Right now, I think I'm going to explore this place, see what's been added." Kaze said, as he noticed a lot of the structure was similar; but looked streamlined in a way. Kali and Sonia followed, along with Kai, and Kai and Shinji exchanged suspicious looks. However, Shinji then turned around and pulled out his phone as he walked away, a picture being displayed on the screen as he did so. Shinji then deleted that picture quickly, as smirked to himself, as he walked down the halls.

[Rakoua]

IC (Alt Rakoua):
"Well, this place brings back memories... not particularly good memories for me at least, but memories."

"Well, yeah, that's to be expected. ... Actually, now that you mention it, it does kinda remind me of the Alternate Dimension's tower..." Kaze said, as he looked around curiously, only for Kazuki to chuckle.
"Yeah, I admit to taking some inspiration from it. Neo must've had good architectural design in that dimension." Kazuki said, as he rolled his eyes.

[Rakoua]

IC (Alt Rakoua):
"If I remember correctly, I was tortured for three months in that tower before I managed to escape after your little trip to that dimension."

OOC: Nobody likes Rakoua =P

"... I guess either those 'Chrono' people got to you first, or Arkara was lying about everything being fine before that attack..." Kaze said with a sigh, as he shook his head.
"Apologies for that, wasn't the intention to have that, but to get rid of a murderer and madman. ... Wanna help us do the same?" Kaze asked, since Rakoua would have a second chance at revenge.

[Rakoua]

IC (Rakoua):
"Actually it wasn't your fault entirely, some strange and very strong people captured me and took me prisoner. Apparently they were looking for something and were from the future... but I don't believe that stuff."

"Hmm. That sounds odd... But, again, I'm sorry if our presence there initially caused any bad things to happen." Kaze said with a slight frown.

IC (Alt Rakoua):
"Well, after you left, about a million people died due to various consequences of your actions. But that's another reality."
OOC: OK, I guess Alt Rakoua could be lying and all, depending on the actual events there.

"I was just there; I know it hasn't been that many people. Though, admittedly, people have died because of the gap in protection and such, but that'd be Alt Kaze's fault for not stepping in, or the Alt Chaos Hunters, or such."
