KF: Have you listened to some Country songs recently? They're not the 'la la la my truck is stuck la la la now another one's stuck' type songs that some used to be. (And not that long ago either. Looking at you, Corb Lund. And yes, that's apparently his name. Odd, yes.) Country of nowadays, is getting to be like Rock was back when the Beatles and Elvis were around or so, from what I've noticed. Obviously, there's still some people who likely want to be more traditional, and ballads will always be around in every genre, but it's not as bad as you may have heard in the past.
Pop can be repetitive(And can be horrible is some cases. Do not even try to trick me into listening to Friday, things will not end well. Or that beaver kid.), but I won't deny it can be catchy. I don't listen to it all the time, but some songs can be good. But; then again, I'm that rare guy who likes almost anything, music-wise.
Well, let's put it this way, do I like rock songs most of the time; stuff that is awesome for getting you ready for action-y things? Definitely. But, lines are blended a lot in music; and some people can enjoy a lot more than just one particular genre; and I'm one of them. =)
