Laptops generally run Vista better than home PCs, mostly because the laptop manufacturer has gone in and added all their own little programs and fixed the basic errors.  I.E. my laptop is by HP, so when HP installed HP Health Check (among other things), they disabled everything in Vista that got in their way, so now those features don't get in MY way.

Unfortunately, laptop manufacturers sometimes also write their own drivers for video card, sound card, etc. to allow for certain kinds of shared memory use (since it's not really feasible to have high-memory video/sound cards in a laptop).  That means...no updates.  Like, ever.  Occasionally, the manufacturer will be nice and put out updates for like the first year, and then your laptop quickly slides toward uselessness because it can no longer get the updates needed for new programs.

Wantija: Laptops aren't required, and in some cases a home computer is pretty much preferred(Unless you have a mouse and a place to use it); but laptops are pretty convenient. For one, you aren't restricted to one spot. =P

I have a hp laptop, and it breaks down very often... As a matter of fact, I have issues getting it to boot up properly, and every time it gets fixed, a week later, it starts to have problems again.

You're insane if you don't see the advantages.

Because the Internet is simultaneously the best and the worst source of information you can get. Mainly the best if you look in the right places. (Don't give me that 'wikipedia is bad' stuff.) And if you get to keep it ACCEPT IT. Laptops are great. (unless you run into a problem)

You're not going to believe how useful you will find it.

Yay, no school tomorrow. Stupid compulsory non Maths and English GCSEs. Citizenship... my new most hated lesson.
