What happened to trying something before judging it?

It hasn't left. These are merely preview opinions. However, there is little way that Microsoft could pull in people with this UI, as it's so counter-intuitive to what they want to accomplish.
There is a chance that I will change my mind if I ever get to try it a decade down the line... However, given the alternatives, I'd say Microsoft tried way too hard with this... And it's only to appease the Tablet consumers. And Tablet consumers are not the same as desktop consumers, and this is just a case of Microsoft being lazy...
Truth, about Metro IE: Yeah, read that on Slashdot yesterday... That seems weird, however, again, if you consider the tablet environment, which Microsoft is trying to win over with their dual-purpose OS, it makes sense... To a point. *Cough flash can run on tablets cough*
MsRR, Google add-on stuff:
a) Why are you using that? b) Stop using that, at least for bookmarks. c) Use your built in Firefox bookmarks, with the optional step of d) Tossing the bookmark bar up into the menu line.
That should solve any problems. =P But in all seriousness, I don't use the google toolbar, don't have it installed or anything. But the bookmarks 'toolbar' built into Firefox works fine. I have it set up like D, to have more space on the screen, and it works great.
MTM, More tribble metro discussion: Hear hear.
Truth, Task bar stuff: I like it without the task bar though... Gives more space on the page for me to view stuff. =P
I can list at least three ways of having 'favourites' on top of other things, including how to disable Tabs on Top if it's still on Firefox.
1. Move the Bookmarks toolbar to the menu line, reorder stuff into folders that might be time consuming at first, but pays off really well in the end. </uses that>
2. Move bookmarks toolbar into top lines, have one folder for favourites, while having the rest in the drop down menu bar.
3. Have each favourite on the line, while leaving the rest in a folder, or in the bookmarks menu bar.
Really, you don't need Google to do everything. =P

Free Game = Not Much Content or not very entertaining.
*Does a double take at that statement and starts laughing* Skrief... Have you even heard of Portal? Portal is the epitome of content. And entertainment.
Have you ever considered the fact that it's free... is because it's like 5 years old? =P And as Mahri said, the fact that it's so awesome, news worthy, and shocking that it's free, is because it's something you'd never think
would be free? =P
