Actually, if I remember correctly, the movie had the villain... But only for like one second at the end. =P Or maybe it was set up differently, but I'm certain Kronos was present.
Truth: Yes. Whether it'll be the end after the series ends, however, is a different question, one I cannot answer.(And am wondering myself. =P)
And as for the Kane Chronicles, I'm not sure about that. It seems like there might be more related to that, but I've heard nothing about any new books for that series.
Also, don't worry, I don't plan on spoiling anything. =) I recommend you read it ASAP, though, it's amazing. =D
KF: The books are indeed better than the movie, and it only gets better as the series goes on. =) The Heroes of Olympus series blows the first series out of the water, too, in my opinion. =P
/EDIT: Yeah, the books are amazing. This is the first time in recent times that I've gotten a book on release day... I think Inheritance came out a week or two before my birthday, last year. =P
