Above are links to technical info for those that are computer savvy about recent computer security breaches. Basically people use 'holes' or 'bugs' to use the computer in a way it was not intended to be. And so the best is to be proactive.
For example, I use a firewall (both hardware and software), Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Spam, Web Protection. Additionally I use Firefox (firefox.com) with the following ad-ons, noscript (noscript.net), popup blocker (RemoveAdblock.com/en/), finjan (securebrowsing.finjan.com) and a SANS monitoring tool (
