Water Type: -- There's a reason Sharpedo is a UU Pokemon: Its defenses are very frail, and because of this, it won't last long in battle. Instead, go with Starmie: 1. It has higher Defenses than a Sharpedo, and its Sp. Attack isn't bad at all for Base 100 Sp. Attack. 2. It can learn WAY more moves than a Sharpedo, from Grass Knot to Thunderbolt, both great options for a Starmie. 3. Starmie has a HP-Recovering move, making it last longer in battle, unlike Sharpedo(I'm pretty sure Sharpedo doesn't have a recovery move, but I'm not 100% sure). Crawdaunt's speed makes it unsuitable for battling, and a Kingler has higher Attack and Speed. However, Dark STAB always finds a way around "Bulky Waters".
Fire type: -- Go with Infernape, as he suggests. He has a high Attack stats, along with Speed, but look out for its Defenses. If you want more power for less defenses and Speed, Blaziken is your choice. However, many would prefer Infernape, but Blaziken isn't half bad either.
Fighting/Steel: -- Lucario isn't a bad choice, and it's your choice to make it a Special or Physical sweeper. Its defenses aren't the greatest, but it still is a good choice for any team. If you're using Starmie, don't go with Gallade, since Psychic is already covered. -- For Steel, Scizor is great. Even though I personally don't own him (Thanks, I don't have a friend to trade with), but from experience, it is one of the best Bug types there is. A weakness to Fire is its only problem.
All in all, those are my recommendations, so if you really want Sharpedo, I can't make you choose what you want.
