I'm goimg to wait a bit before I let my "core" evolve, so I can get them some good moves.

Raichu is confirmed for my team, although I'm only working on getting him at the moment. That leaves me two blank spots for others... Suggestions?
Darkrai? Dialga? Chansey? Chansey has such high defense that a LV 100 Hacked Craydilly that I made, one with every stat (HP, Def, Speed, SP Def, Atk, Sp Atk) at 999, lost to a LV 96 Chansey.
my friend once made me a LV100 shiny Misdreavus with all stats at 999 and the following moves: Psycho Boost, Shadow Ball, Meteor Mash, and Sacred Fire! but since all of those moves have low PP, she actually loses most of her battles. She is still my prize Pokemon in emerald, though.

My team will be:
Tyranitar
Dragonite
Metagross
Empoleon
Leafeon
and a lightning type, either Raichu or Manectric

I can have an Ursaring w/ Avalanche and Earthquake. You don't have a Fighting Pokemon on your team, and since Ursaring has a base of 130 Attack, your team is in big trouble.

@DB:  I might have some suggestions for you, but I would need to see what else you're using, first.

Heh, you name it, I'll find it. =P

Quote
@DB:  Well, I wouldn't really call Blissey a Tank.  I would definitely call it the best Special Wall of any Pokemon, period, but not necessarily a Tank.  Its Special Attack isn't strong enough to warrant a Tank.  A BoltBeam combo or Seismic Toss can really throw a lot of Pokemon of guard, but it wouldn't warrant a Tank.

Tank was the first thing that came to mind; I really have no idea what to call it. =P

Trying to find a good Pichu to send over, ATM. Although I may have to deal with a neutral nature at this rate... >_<

that Hacking thing happened two years ago. now I just use my old Action Replay for experiments, such as that MissingNo starter thing that you posted. but since you wanted the battle, here is my best memory of how it ended: (Cradilly is hacked, while Chansey is normal) Cradilly used Sludge Bomb. Chansey is Poisoned. Chansey uses an attack that I can't remember. repeat until Cradilly is almost out of PP due to a large amount of misses and blocks. Chansey is still at almost full health, while Craydilly is almost down. Chansey attacks, Craydilly, attacks, Craydilly misses, Chansey hits, Craydilly faints. Sorry if it is a little vague, it did happen quite a while ago, in the Emerald Battle Frontier. I think it was in the Pyramid.

But now, as I said earlier, it seems wrong to use the AR for anything other than learning about game code. also, I never used on Pearl or Plat, nor will I.

as for the Uber teams, I am most comfortable with them, and they don't exactly beat the opponent instantly, as you imply. in fact, I still lose to powerful foes such as the Elite Four and the Frontier Brains very often!

@RP:  Perhaps, but I don't need STAB.  If that were so, what would I need two other attacks for?  It's all in type coverage.  STAB isn't always required.  You need to pay more attention to covering EVs, IVs, Natures, Base Stats, and actually applying the most beneficial moves to a Pokemon to suit its environment.  In all honesty, unless I come to a neutral Pokemon, I never worry about STAB or not.  Yes, it's important, but when you weigh in all of the other factors, all else is more important.
IMO STAB is important, and since many of the pkmn on my team have fairly good defence the attacks you use will not have as much effect as you hope. Furthermore, if you use attacks that do not reflect your pkmn's type, I can as well, and I can fight back against your attacks.
Quote
Ah, I see.

Yes, you can get Leafeon pre-Elite Four. Smiley  Not in Diamond or Pearl (in-game only, anyway), but in Platinum, you can.

If I might make a slight suggestion, you would much rather prefer to have an Infernape over a Rapidash.  Trust me, you'll be better off for it.  And Floatzel and Gastrodon also work as really good substitutes for Empoleon.  Just my two cents.
I start with Empoleon, and as you said, importing from another game wold take away much of the fun, therefor I can't have Empoleon and Infernape. Also, Infernape is weak against flying, and psychic, which rapidash is not weak against. I like Floatzel, but I find it not quite as good as Empoleon, plus Empoleon gives me a steel type which can't be poisoned. Gastrodon is slow and I don't like it.

Quote
Special Walls, not blockers. Wink  Blocker isn't a competitive term, but I guess I'm getting too technical here.  Anyway, the whole point of Blissey is to act as a buffeter for the team.  Its normal purpose is to hold off Pokemon that focus on Special Attack.  It also focuses on reinforcing and strengthening the team, which is why it has moves to use such as Aromatherapy.  And if a Physical Sweeper such as Lucario showed up, all you would have to do is switch out before it can do anything. (although you would have to be cautious of Pursuit)
Whatever the name may be, it does the same thing... And switching out can be done on any pkmn...

Quote
Well, it depends.  If I'm preparing a competitive Pokemon, then yes, I breed for a specific Nature.  While some people think that its smart to always go with a Neutral Nature, that's actually a very big mistake.  Say, for example, I use a Special Sweeper.  Why, then, do I not use a Nature that can lower my Attack in return for raising my Special Attack?  The Attack stat won't be used anyway, and you can always afford to have a 10% bonus in a stat that is crucial to a Pokemon, so all competitive Pokemon should have a focused stat.  For example, I have a Gallade and an Electivire that I use for competitive purposes, both of whom are Physical Sweepers.  My Gallade, on one hand, has a Jolly Nature, which lowers his Special Attack in return for raising his Speed.  I'm not going to be using his Special Attack, and I can really use an uped Speed stat on Gallade, so I should pick an appropriate Nature for him to suit that.  Also, I have my Electivire with an Adamant Nature.  Adamant Nature increases Attack at the cost of Special Attack.  I think that one should explain itself.

As for my normal, in-game team, I try not to worry about it, unless it absolutely hinders the Pokemon's purpose.  For example, I have two Pokemon on my team (Luxio and Monferno) who have Neutral Natures.  Surprisingly, on the first time, without actually thinking about it, it turns out that my Grotle got a good Nature, Adamant (+ATK,-SATK) to be exact.  However, I finally caught a Gligar last night, but I realized that it had a Bold Nature (+DEF,-ATK).  Defense is Gligar's/Gliscor's best stat, and I need focus to be put on Attack.  Thus, I can't accept Bold for a Nature.  Overall, though, while I do worry about Nature, when it comes to in-game Pokemon, I tend to not worry about it.
Cool. I'm not in to the game that way. I train my pkmn wherever and however and they turn out to be pretty good.

Ursaring is not an ice type or ground type... saying that I don't have a fighting pkmn on my team means nothing and you pointed that out yourself by putting two moves that are not the same type as your pkmn in the post. I think that answers back to you pretty well.

Anywho, how about this team:
Dragonite (Drgn/Flng)
Tyranitar (Rck/Drk)
Togekiss (Nrml/Flng)
Leafeon (Grs)
Ampharos (Lghtng)
Toxicroak (Fghtng/Psn)

Yes, there is no fire or water, but I can give fire and water moves to others...

Okay, there may be a few holes.
Tyranitar and Dragonite will tsay for sure, and I may sub out Metagross for someone else. But most of my pkmn would have earthquake, which takes out electivire
Yeah, and there goes your buffeter for Earthquake. :\  And Electivire was merely an example.  There are many other Physical Sweeper Pokemon out there that can learn moves like Ice Punch and Earthquake.  Take Medicham for example.
Dragonite is a flying type that can easily take out Medicham. And pkmn like that don't get STAB, which reduces the effectiveness of them.
And you said where's the fun in that a few posts ago... this team will be at the end of the game. I don't know what my team will be for the main storyline e.g. 8 gyms + elite four, but it may look like this:

Empoleon
Staraptor
Luxray
Leafeon(can you get this pre elite four?)
Rapidash
HM slave

I've got:water, steel, normal, flying, lightning, grass, and fire. plus and HM slave to put in to use a quick revive/potion of some sort. I normally don't need too many pkmn while I go through the journey. In fact, I played my bro's fire red version using only Blastoise and an HM slave. By the time I got to the elite four Blastoise was in the high 70s.

As I've already said before, that team is post elite four/main storyline. In the quote above is my plan for a team pre elite four(as in form the beginning).

Your new team still has a Ice and Ground issue. Ursaring was merely just an example, there are other Pokemon that can learn an Ice and Ground moves at the same time. I'm not saying that I recommend you use a Fighting type, I'm saying that you didn't plan on putting a Fighting move on a Pokemon since you only aimed for STAB moves, in which that isn't enough. You also need moves that will take advantage of the Pokemon's weakness.
For example, Salamence has a weakness to Rock and Ice. By teaching it Earthquake and Stone Edge, it will take advantage of its two weaknesses.
Also, I tend to go with mixed types in a team. If you don't get what I mean, if I have a Staraptor, I would choose another Pokemon that isn't Normal or Flying, basically no repeats of a type. Just advice, not forcing you to follow what I say.
Ah, you have a Toxicroak as your Fighting type, but if I'm assuming you use that to fight my Ursaring so you can use a Fighting move on it, I can always switch Ursaring out and get a Ground Pokemon like a Hippowdon to use Earthquake and land an OHKO. Even though it isn't fast, its high Defense and Hit Points can take a hit from Focus Punch, one of the most powerful Fighting move.

=EDIT - About the cloning glitch in Pokemon Emerald, to be safe, how often should you perform it?

The onlly reason I'm bothering wuth Giga Impact is to get rid of some of my Electric type moves.

Also, when i said I don't hack often,I meant more like rarely. And i wouldn't even think about hacking to scam you.

I don't understand the concept of an HM slave. You should distribute your HM moves to all your Pokemon.

Also,i would.those moves are good, but i  can't get them for a while. Plus,i just kinda wanna get Electivire,I'm willing to take the hit to my speed.

I am still training my Pokemon to battle Volkener. In the end i will probably just use Giratina, but i want to prepare for Victory Road.

I am basically going to spend the next week training for the Elite Four, getting most of my Pokemon to level 60ish.

@Mata Nui - Most HM moves are very weak when it comes to battling, so another weak Pokemon like Bibarel can carry many HM moves. Usually, HM Slaves are Pokemon that can learn many HM moves. Bibarel can learn 6, in fact, out of 8.

I've heard somewhere that cloning more than two times a day can cause you deleted Pokemon. I'm pretty sure that every Emerald game is different, just like how we are different from another.

No, that's a lie, I had cloned around... 5 or so Rayquazas in the same day, along with possibly some of the other legends in Emerald. I just messed up the cloning directions for Latios(I'm never going from memory again >_>), and that's how it got deleted.
