Yeah,i feel rippped off about Plat not working with WPA. My dad's computer has WPA,and it's the only one i can get internet through. But it is WPA and was firm about leavving it that way. *Sigh*....well,at least the possiblity of Explorers of the Sky having WPA compatibility might give me some wi-fi pokemon....

EotS isn't a mainstream game, and apparently you don't like PMD, so...

Plus, you can't battle others AFAIK, just CPU controlled teams.

IVs are too hard for me... (I'm currently breeding for natures, and EV training, but not IV getting...)

And what's better for a Toxicroak:
-Lonely with Dry Skin or
-Jolly with Anticipation(currently have both of those, which is why I ask. Anticipation isn't great, but Lonely hinders defence...)

Okay, my team that I'm trying to build up will include:
Porygon-Z
Starmie
Dusknoir
Scisor(I need to get a new one tho. Adamant or Jolly?)

All you need to know about breeding IVs are that IVs are passed down from both parents. And that Defense and HP IVs are harder to pass down.

@Toxicroak - If the Jolly one is Female, then breed it with an Everstone until you get a Jolly one with DRY SKIN. It gives you a way to heal HP from Water attacks as well as Rain. You're even immune to Water attacks.

@Scizor - I personally prefer Adamant, since Scizor's Speed isn't too great. 
And I'm planning on a Blissey, and I have the Pokemon with good IVs for it as well as the right Egg Group, so I'm going to name is "DiskMaster" =P. Hey, it's pink, non?

So, I'm liking HG/SS even more every day. New news about the Pichu/Arceus events. For Pichu, you apparently get NEP after you visit Ilex Forest with the Pikachu Coloured Pichu. And for the Arceus Event, you have to take the event Arceus to... Wait for it... The ruins of Alph. =D

1. We all knew this from the start anyway because there's no other way to get to Mount Silver or the Pokemon league, since there's no Pokemon league in Johto.

What I'm intrigued about though... Is that area to the left of Cianwood, and if it's what I think it is, they've already made D/P/Pt mostly obsolete. =P

Today's Number is 197:
UMBREON!

Type: DARK
Ability: Synchronize - If user gets Burned, Paralyzed, or Poisoned(both forms), the Pokemon who caused the status effect will receive the same status effect the user received. Immunities apply (Ex: A Fire Pokemon burns a Pokemon with Synchronize will not be affected by the burn).

Author's Opinion: This is a pretty decent UU Pokemon. In OU, Blissey and Skarmory are one of the few walls that do a better job at doing their purpose. UU is where this thing would do its best. It's movepool is pretty shallow, but it shouldn't make it a bad wall. Now, I don't know much about Umbreon, so the majority of information comes from Smogon.

This is one of the best sets Umbreon can have, Mean Look others and Baton Pass to a Sweeper. Taunt prevents Skarmory from setting up on you, so you need the Speed to outrun it.
Toxic is used to stall the opponent, while Protect lets you use Wish efficiently.
Leftovers helps it last longer, but a Chople Berry is helpful for soften Fighting moves.
Nature: Sassy
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP/200 Atck/56 Sp. Def
~ Curse
~ Baton Pass/Protect
~ Wish
~ Payback

Curse, and use Payback to esure a 100 Base Powered STAB Attack. You may Baton Pass the Stat boosts, or Protect if you want Wish to take effect.

Countering Umbreon:
If Umbreon doesn't have Taunt, then Skarmory can come in and Roar/Whirlwind away Umbreon's setting up capabilities.

Scizor can use U-Turn to nullify Mean Look as well as score super-effective damage.

Sweepers that use Taunt and are faster than Umbreon is trouble for Umbreon. Examples are Gyarados and Tyranitar.

Heracross poses a huge problem, as it has both STAB Bug and Fighting attacks. If Toxic is its only move, then Steel Types are a major problem with it.

Again, I don't really know Umbreon that well, so I had to use Smogon. However, the Mean Look set was one set that I actually thought up of, and then a little help from Smogon.

Ability: Pressure - Moves that do damage towards the Pokemon lose 2 PP instead of one.

Author's Opinion: In the 3rd Generation, Dusclops, the Pre-evolution of Dusknoir, was an OU Wall, popular on many teams. In the 4th Gen, the new and improved Dusknoir come back to do the same purpose Dusclops did: WALL and TANK. The Physical/Special Split was kind and unkind at the same time to Dusknoir. The Ghost gained the Elemental Punches at the cost of Shadow Ball, which is now a Special Move.

       252 HP/52 Def/204 Sp. Def
~ Shadow Sneak/Shadow Punch
~ Fire Punch/Thunder Punch

The Walling Set is probably the most common type of Dusknoir you would see in Competitive Battling. Shadow Sneak counteracts his poor Speed, while Shadow Punch is for those battlers who want extra Power. Fire Punch covers Heracross, one of the best counters to Dusknoir, while Thunder Punch covers Gyarados. Pain Split for recovery, and Will O Wisp to soften blows from sweepers like Tyranitar and Weavile, if they switch in on a Will O Wisp and hits.

Dusknoir is one of the best Trick Room users in the game. He's slow and has Base 135 Defenses as well as a respectable 100 Base Attack.
Countering Dusknoir:
Tyranitar and Weavile and other Pursuit users can use Pursuit to torture Dusknoir, as long as they don't switch in on a Will O Wisp.

Heracross can take advantage of Will O Wisp and activate Guts and deal serious damage. Other Guts Pokemon can deal serious damage.

Gyarados can defeat Dusknoir by Dragon Dancing if it doesn't have Thunder Punch.

Taunt can cancel out Will O Wisp and Pain Split, which are essential to any Dusknoir.

Heatran is the big one; he has Flash Fire to cancel out Will O Wisp as well as being able to Wall Dusknoir.

      I know Dusknoir significantly better, so I didn't have to look too much at guides.

I like Dusknoir. His attack got improved, making him able to wall and deal out damage at the same time. What pokemon is a nice pair with Dusknoir?

You can replace an attacking move with Superpower or Brick Break if you want so you could counter Tyranitar and Weavile. Earthquake if you want Heatran Bye-bye.

Swampert or other Bulky Waters would make Heatran run, while Blissey would work out well. Metagross and Forretress are able to wall Tyranitar and Weavile. Even your own Heatran would make a good support Pokemon.

I just found that, according to Smogon, my entire Plat-planned team is OU, with the exception of Torterra, which is UU. =P

It's also interesting where Serebii and Smogun differ on "recommended movesets."

Limbo - Just think of it as an unofficial tier where people debate where certain Pokemon are placed in the metagame. In other words, Pokemon in Limbo are "undefined", meaning that their tier isn't determined.

Borderline - The Pokemon is too powerful for UU, but not enough power for OU. 

Wynaut is Uber for the same reason as Wobbuffet, it can Encore attacking moves and Counter or Mirror Coat any attack.

On Gyara: Yeah, but it is funny how a lot of those pop up right after me or soemone else on here talks about it or so... Happened a few times, once with the Deoxys I traded from Diamond(Thanks again BT! =)). =P

ALAKAZAM!!!

Type: PSYCHIC
Ability: Synchronize - If user gets Burned, Paralyzed, or Poisoned(both forms), the Pokemon who caused the status effect will receive the same status effect the user received. Immunities apply (Ex: A Fire Pokemon burns a Pokemon with Synchronize will not be affected by the burn).
          Inner Focus - Prevents Flinching, however not from Focus Punch.

Author's Opinion: This is the most powerful, non-legendary Pokemon in terms of Special Attack. Powerful Special Attack and Speed makes this one of the best Sweepers. It lost the elemental punches in the last generation, but it has some new toys to play around with, like Focus Blast and Shadow Ball as well as Energy Ball and Grass Knot. However, its poor defenses leave it prone for heavy damage with even the weakest attacks.

Recommended Movesets:
Nature: Timid/Modest
Item: Choice Specs
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 4 HP/252 Sp. Atck/252 Speed
~ Psychic
~ Focus Blast
~ Shadow Ball/Signal Beam
~ Hidden Power(FIRE)/Trick

With Choice Specs, this set can sweep many Pokemon quite effectively. Focus Blasy is a necessity, otherwise Tyranitar and Weavile will completely destroy you. Tyranitar and Weavile are able to rip this set into pieces, so Trick is an option to lock them into one attack, or you could use Signal Beam for some effective damage (It can OHKO Weavile). Hidden Power Fire can OHKO Scizor on the switch. Metagross will also have a nice dent, but beware switching out, since the mentioned Pokemon can use Pursuit for an easy OHKO. Timid outspeeds most Pokemon, but Modest for more power is Okay too.

Simple. Calm Mind up, and sweep.
Countering Alakazam:
Tyranitar and Weavile and other Pursuit users can use Pursuit  and score an easy KO on Alakazam.

Dugtrio can trap Alakazam and use Sucker Punch and score a KO.

Steel types can Wall it, but beware of Focus Blast. Blissey also applies to this.

Paralysis can greatly hinder Alakazam, but tread carefully as most, if not all, variants of Alakazam have Synchronize.
