Flipz: It's not for the 3DS. =P It, alongside Black/White 2, are pretty much the final DS games... or so we can hope. =P So, since I'm guessing you at the very least have a DS because of mentions of Pearl and HGSS and such, you can play that, and the Gen 5 games. +)

1. Because Generation 5 is the DSi generation. Note that all the gen 5 games have been DSi enhanced. It's also because the jump to the 3DS will likely require a lot more changes, more than an in-generation change; it'll require Generation 6, more or less.

Also, it'll have way more than just a 'decent' postgame. They're packing tons of stuff into this game, so much I can't really summarize it yet. =P

2. I haven't played it yet, but it's a good idea to, always good to have SRPGs. =D

I need a Pokemon that both resists Psychic moves and also has access to at least one Fighting-type move at a reasonable level.  In Emerald.  Pre-Norman.  (In other words, I need a counter for Spinda, my Blaziken can handle the rest of the gym, I think.)

I have an Aron, so maybe.  I really wish I had those Gen V Dark/Fighting types now, though.

Well, it's pretty much either that or Skarmory, and Skarmory only gets Rock Smash as well.(Aggron gets Focus Punch and Brick break, but Brick Break isn't until Sootopolis, and Focus Punch just fails. =P)

Yeah, Scrafty seems like an interesting Pokemon, though you'd also want it to be the BW2 version; it gets some good Move Tutor moves in there. =P

Also, you'll want a lightning type for the next gym, some sort of dark move using Pokemon for the gym after that, and the same lightning type for the last gym. Avoid Blaziken in the two gyms that need lightning types. =P

Is it possible to breed any good Fighting moves onto Aron?  Because I have a female with a Gentle nature, so I can stick it in the Daycare and breed off of it.

While I'm at it, is there anything particularly good I can breed onto a Mudkip?  I DO have a female, after all, so (again), Daycare.

EDIT: OK, nothing that will be particularly helpful here, though it is interesting to see that Aron can have both Body Slam and Smelling Salts bred onto it, allowing for a cycle of paralyze-mega damage-repeat.  Might be useful for Final Four.

I put a list of a potential Final Four team on the last page, care to take a look at it again?  (copied here for convenience)

Thinking ahead to Final 4, Blaziken can take the Ice-types and the Dark-types with minimal fuss, and I'm thinking of switching Grovyle for Cacturne, which should deal with the Ghost-types.  I want an Ice-type of my own to deal with the dragons, which would you suggest?  (Keep in mind what I can and can't get pre-Elite Four.)  Finally, I can either use Cacturne on the Water-types and just deal with the damage, or, preferably, I need a Pokemon with an Ability that renders it completely immune.  Is there anything like than in Emerald?

EDIT 2: OK, looks like Lombre with Mega Drain and Leech Seed is my best bet, I'll just have to remember to switch to Cacturne (Pin Missile/Needle Arm/Faint Attack/Spikes) for Tentacruel and the enemy Ludicolo (weak to Pin Missile).  My Ice type will be Glalie.  That leaves me with two Pokemon slots open, who do I use as backup?

There's no-one that gets Water Absorb in Emerald before the Elite 4. Your best bet is to just train up something to take the damage, or, more preferably, take an electric type to the league and obliterate everything. =P

Is there any way I can breed/chain breed some of those TM moves onto the Pokemon?  Specifically Aggron; I'm going to have to do some breeding anyway in order to get an Adamant instead of a Gentle, so I might as well save myself a couple of TMs in the meantime.  [/issogladBWdidawaywithTMbreaking]

Yes, but only if the TM Moves are on the male, they don't get passed down otherwise. And, well, you have to make sure that the moves don't get pushed off by the moves.

However, take note you probably don't have either of those yet. You get brick Break in Sootopolis, so that's definitely not obtained yet. =P

I've been to sootopolis already, that's the Fire-type gym where Marshtomp owned everybody. Never mind, I haven't been there.

A quick reference online showed that neither Brick Break nor Dragon Claw can be passed to Aggron by breeding, so it looks like it's time to do some TM-duping.

EDIT 2: DUDE!  Norman problem solved.  I just use Shedinja on Spinda!  Easy!

Watch out for confusion, that can destroy Shedinja still.

It won't list TM moves typically. Plus, if you look closely, I never doubled up on any of the TMs. And any that I did by accident, can likely be bought from the Lilycove Department store. =P

As long as Shedinja is faster than Spinda, I can just use the Yellow Flute until Teeter Dance runs out of PP.
