Earthquake is a given (you'll get it as soon as you evolve it), as is Giga Drain.  I can't remember what I used for the others...I'd have to go dig up my Platinum file and look.

With my experience Wood Hammer is an absolute killer move, may as well put leech seed on it to gradually restore HP if you can wall certain pokemon to gain HP back from Wood Hammer's recoil. Crunch is a good move for type coverage as well.

Oh, good, someone else posted so I don't have to double-post.

So, I finally EV-trained my Cacturne.  Verdict: SCREW EV-TRAINING. >_<    That was the most obnoxious process ever.  I might do it if I ever get caught up and start playing in a current generation, just because you sort of have to, but still, sheesh.

Also, because I'm thinking about it ATM: is Meowth available in-game in B/W/2 or X/Y?

Continuing off of my Final 4 Pokemon set (the one I quoted--I might go with Blade's suggestion for the Frontier, if I'm crazy enough to try it), I'm thinking of grabbing a Skarmory or Starmie for one of my last two 'mons.  (Keeping in mind, as far as type resistances I'll want to be able to fight Dark, Ghost, Ice, Dragon, and Water-type specialists.)  I'm still not sure what I want for my Electric-type, since nothing I've grabbed so far is really standing out to me (maybe Magneton?  But even still.)

Hmm... Not entirely certain on Electric types... Which ones do you have, anyway?

Starmie works; Blaziken can fight off Dark Types and take out some of the Ice Type one; Gardevoir can take out the Ghosts, Glalie can take out the Dragon e4 member; and technically Lombre can take on much of the Water... But watch out for Milotic. =P

I have Ilumise and Volbeat, Plusle and Minun, Magnemite, Voltorb, and Electrike/Manectric.  I'm leaning towards Magnemite due to the Steel typing and defense which should let me survive a hit or two (though I'll probably lean towards a Speed-boosting nature just to make sure I can outspeed the League if I can).

Also, I just caught a female Absol and a female Seedot, so those Pokemon (and Seedot's evolutionary line) are open for options now (though I think I'm set for Grass-Dark types, given Cacturne).  Absol took more than 30 turns, a ton of pokeballs and Great Balls and Ultra Balls, a ton of Super Potions, and ultimately two Timer Balls to catch, but it was worth it now that I can breed Absol freely.

Magnemite works as an Electric type, though, that's for sure.

I'd have to check the PC--I doubt it, though.  It'd be awesome if it did, but alas...

I did manage to grab a female of Phanphy, Wobbuffet, and Heracross, though, so no more need to go into the Safari Zone *except* for the Light Ball.

Also, trainers are jerks.  Twice in a row I tried to get a double battle going, and twice they decided to look a different way and challenge me one-on-one.

Heh, true. I only asked because I jsut so happened to get a light Ball Pikachu on my first encounter in X/Y. xP

Use running for that, unless it's indoors; they automatically look toward you in everything before X/Y(That seems to be different in that? Not quite sure, honestly. xP). Very helpful for trying to get the non-standard double battles in Emerald. =P

Doesn't work if one of them is on a movement path, though.  There was a pair of trainers--one was stationary, the other was running back and forth across the path (i.e. bouncing between the Trainer and the wall).  I tried to time my run so they'd both see me, but no--the bottom one sees me, and then the moving one sees me immediately after the first battle.   Obviously meant to be a double battle, but then it didn't work.

Also, yeah, Phanphy is pre-Final 4, as is Heracross (got females of both, along with the female Wobbuffet that took me 25 Safari Balls and a Pokeblock to catch).

Speaking of Pokeblocks, the Pokeblock-making minigame is FUN.  Why did they have to make the equivalent mechanics in later games REQUIRE wi-fi?

What are you talking about? ._. Diamond/Pearl/Platinum's Poffin minigame was single player capable; I should know, considering I had no friends to do minigames like contests and such with... And Gens 5 and 6 have no equivalent minigames, so...

When I tried to do it on emulator, it tried to connect to wi-fi and crashed.

Also, I need a replacement for Starmie--I can't get it without the Super Rod, and AFAIK I can't get that pre-Final 4.

It is?  Wow.  That's...really strange.  Never heard of a Super Rod being available pre-Final 4 before.

It's available before the E4 in X/Y too, but that's all I'll say about that. =P

Yeah Super Rod is only available post E4 in dppt (once you get national dex).

And my friend just bred a adamant shiny Growlithe with all flawless IVs (excluding SpA) he is very lucky...
