Whoa....i read this story,it is kinda interesting:

Quote from: necn.com
According to the Lego Company, children across the world spend 5 billion hours a year playing with Lego’s. Seven-year-old Quaid Guarino adds more than his share to that number.

Quaid's Lego’s take up half of his room. So how many does he have?

Quaid: "I’m guessing ten thousand or more maybe"

Quaid pays for most of them himself, and he's a bargain hunter.

Quaid: "I have my allowance and my dad says I can go on EBay. I buy them off of EBay"

A few months ago Quaid was playing with his Lego’s when an idea hit him.

Elizabeth Guarino--Quaid's mom: "I stopped doing what I was doing and he said come here mom...and I went over and looked at what he did...it was a wow"

While his parents marveled at Quaid's creativity he went over and Googled Lego, and sent off an email.

Quaid's idea got their attention.

So what’s his idea. Quaid said, “I can't tell you...I'm under contract.”

“Yes, he signed a contract, agreeing not to tell anyone except Lego about his idea. But he's seven, and I'm a mom who knows how to bribe.”

"What if I give you ice cream? No, lots of candy...no....hook you up on a play date with a nice six-year-old girl? Still no"

So much for that plan. Quaid is keeping his secret--even Lego doesn't know the full details yet of what this 7 year old mind has come up with. The company told Quaid's parents it is very rare for them to enter into product negotiations with a seven year old.

Elizabeth: "we're really impressed a company like that would take the time to contact a seven year old boy, if it never turns into anything more...that company has made that child happy"

Lego may not use Quaid's idea...but his parents think he's really onto something.

Peter: "I think it's fascinating, he thought of a different way to play with Lego's, he completely stepped outside the box...I'm still stuck on the fact he Googled Lego!"

Quaid is ready to present his idea to Lego, but the company's headquarters are in Denmark. Six hours ahead of Maine...which presents a small problem.

"They can't get me because of my bedtime...I have to go to bed at 8"

Luckily, summer vacation starts next week...along with negotiations.

So what do you think this is all about? And i thought i was a lego diehard.....this kid is one big lego fan to have OVER 10 THOUSAND legos.

My brother has 2 humungo recyling bins full of lego's... Not to mention 4 cardboard boxes.

But, it makes me wonder, what could the kid have thought up that would have Lego so interested?

To me, it sounds quite unfair for his own family not to know what he is doing. He is a 7-year old, after all.

But that's just me.

I wonder if this will go to forum news.....i doubt it.

Well, I hear that 4 year olds can use computers better than than their parents, so that doesn't really surprise me...

But the idea of LEGO signing a contract with a 7 year old... Now that's interesting...

Oh yea, I remembered it like it was yesterday, I was four years old at that time, still unable to speak and I went to funschool.com and cartoonnetwork.com and I learned many stuff. And I was able at that time to count all the way to 100, learned some functions, and URL, my mom even told me that I was better than her in the internet. hehehe Cheesy Good times, good times.

Well under my observations, I concer that the child made an absolute grand contract with lego, and it seems quite ingenious from a 7 year old, but This might give Lego a boost from the public. I'mj going to stay tuned to this.

If hes talking 10,000 Legos, I guess it's really good for a 7 year old. I don't really know how many I had then, but I have way more now. And I wonder how it is so good that Lego would sign a contract

I say, is his great, great grandfather the inventor of LEGO X{D?

-That kid's parents must be real loose, not very protective of him :-\. Still, normally companies don't make contracts with children Shocked.

I like how Saturn posted that like 30 seconds later. Therefore he prepared that image beforehand. My conclusion: he's a man with a plan. A schemer.

If his parents aren't very protective, why does he have a bedtime? And this is a company made for kids....
