The thing about cliches; is that they're everywhere. I honestly don't think there's anything that's not been done before... The key is to make things not seem boring; to give an original twist. Like things not really being 'fated' or anything.

Besides, it's not really a 'cliche', so much as it is people continuing a thousands of years long ideal. The idea of people being 'chosen' for adventures have been around for a really long time, since the Greek mythology days or possibly even longer. It just got a lot more fictional in recent years.

Also, if someone believes they're chosen, then that's their issue. xD

In that case, Blade, I hereby suddenly discover for no discernible reason that you are the chosen one of a currently unknown object. You are now obligated to follow the overused cliche of being the reluctant hero that you so obviously are, in a team, being self-depreciating at any cost, at one point costing your team the life of one of its members, thus causing them to blame you and causing them to dismiss the entire chosen one shenanigans until you inevitably redeem yourself, then reuniting with your team and putting a big stop to the big bad, who is then revealed to be the team member you supposedly caused the death of, when in reality it was a stunt to make you look bad all along, and so as it happens you and he are the only two intelligent members of your team because the others can't tell if things are fake to save their lives, and then you do the inevitable epic dual with the big bad, only to find out that, in another alarming revelation, that the big bad is your future self, corrupted by his own feelings of glory from your inevitable defeating of him, at which point you defeat him and then you start getting corrupted by your own feelings of glory from your defeat of him, so the defeated, furthest-along version of you guides your good-past self against him from behind a veil of shadows, and then you find out this was all orchestrated by the bigger bad, who happens to be the very person who told you that you were chosen in the first place. Then you find the object you are the chosen of, and you wield it with great power, and find out the bigger bad can split into five, and including you, there happens to be five members on your team, so the entire epic saga of THE BLADEMAN ends with a 5v5 battle, in which three members of your team die and the bigger bad is killed... or is he? dun dun dun

And I've never even watched anime, so from my point of view, that just goes to show how cliched stuff is.  

And then, in the epilogue, you obviously go to check on the defeated 'bigger bad's' corpse, only to find it gone, then ominous laughter surrounds you as you are warped into another dimension before your only remaining team-mates very eyes, setting the scene for a sequel series under a different name, which focuses on a wider range of characters, though for the first half of it your only remaining team-mate is questing to find you, then in the second half we find out what you're doing in the other dimension, and the sequel series ends with you reuniting and discovering many things about the bigger bad, then you return to the normal world, only to find it cracking apart with various other realities bleeding through into it, though mostly realities that appear to grant the 'bigger bad' more and more power.  Then the second sequel series starts, under yet another name, in which you have to travel through realities and lessen the 'bigger bad's' power before you can confront him once and for all, however the entirety of reality is about to be destroyed as well as another threat presents itself and, working with the 'bigger bad', revives every single deceased character so far, except they are completely bound to the life of the new threat, willing to serve it at any costs, and any secrets they may have been holding would then become accessible to the enemy. You  do eventually kill this new threat, severing the bond, with a free revival for all, and lead your new-found army to the 'bigger-bad's doorstep', where it turns out he has also amassed an army of his alternate universe selves, though less powerful than him, and then he shows his true form... then the final battle begins, and then you yell a bunch of complex anime words, exerting all your magical capabilities, and through various shenanigans you eventually fuse bodies with him to become a being of perfect balance, and destroy his own will inside your own mind. That then leaves you with a dilemma, because your minds had fused, but you kept the appearance of the bigger bad, so your army, victorious but not without casualty over the enemy army, charges on you, and you are forced to the only thing you can do, which is to teleport away into the dimension you were teleported into before, and thus you force your own mind outside of the body, dumping it in the dimension, and return to the world, then you enter a prototype robot body only shown in the first episode, giving yourself SWORD ARMS, and the proper title of 'Blademaster Blademan'. So ends the great tale of the Blademan, but not the tale of the others... and then the show executives start a spin-off show, starring...

A U.N.-sponsored conference next month in Dubai will propose new regulations and restrictions for the Internet, which critics say will censor free speech, levy tariffs on e-commerce, and even force companies to clean up their “e-waste” and make gadgets that are better for the environment.

Concerns about the closed-door event have sparked a Wikileaks-style info-leaking site, and led the State Department on Wednesday to file a series of new proposals or tranches seeking to ensure “competition and commercial agreements — and not regulation” as the meeting’s main message.

Terry Kramer, the chief U.S. envoy to the conference, says the United States is against sanctions and believes management of the Internet by one central organization goes against free speech.

“[Doing nothing] would not be a terrible outcome at all,” Kramer said recently. “We need to avoid suffocating the Internet space through well-meaning but overly prescriptive proposals that would seek to control content.”

Honestly, the U.N. is so useless and ignorant as to be detrimental to the cause of international peace and diplomacy.  I'm hoping that this turns into such a big debauchle (spelling?) as to force them to disband, or at the very least fire all of the current representatives and administrators and start over.

Don't get me wrong, conceptually the U.N. is a good idea, but the people in it are all complete idiots.  And at least with the U.S. Congress, there's SOME good people, and there's a CHANCE of kicking idiots out of office by electing their opponents.
