Curtis frowned, as he turned around, and raised an eyebrow as he saw a cybernetic bear approach them. Quickly.
"Right. Is there Anything that could stop it?" Curtis asked, as the bear stopped, frowned, and tilted it's head to the side at Curtis in confusion, as it roared in further confusion, and then continued it's dash towards the two.

"Blind it, maybe trap it.  I think our weapons are, like, waaaaaaay too weak to really hurt it.  We'd need a mech.  and ours are like, trashed.  Stupid Research experiments...can't they keep an eye on their failures for ONCE? she thought sulkily.

"Right; the only Question is how to do that..." Curtis said, before he whipped out his Plasma Gun, and fired multiple blasts at Anything. However, Anything dodged, and then ran toward Bailey, fangs bared.

"Shiza!" Lloyd said with a frown, as he slowly reached for his Beam Saber in case it was needed.

"How does it work better?" Lloyd asked, a weird look on his face.

Justin skids into the corridor, trying to look cool...and skids right through; that syrup is slippery stuff!  He slides into a coolant pipe in the next hallway and goes down, but he looks at it in wonder, picks himself up, and goes to the nearest comm panel.

"Hello?  Is this thing working?  Kora and Rose to the laboratory.  Bring your mechs.  I think I know how we can save Carrie from Shiza."

Bailey waits motionless until Anything is upon her, then grabs its neck, swings to the top of its body, and fires her blaster against the base of its skull.  As she expected, the blast has no effect, even at point-blank range...but Anything does bash its head against the boulder behind where Bailey had been.  Bailey leaps atop said boulder as Anything roars in pain, turns around, and charges Curtis.

"Your turn!"

*Kora and Rose head to the laboratory*

"Alright." Curtis said, as he charged up his plasma gun, and waited until it was nearly too late, and then dashed to the side, and whirled around to fire his charged shot at the mutant bear.

"But that's not always a good thing." Lloyd stated, tying to act quickly.
I've gotta somehow get Shiza away from people until I can confiscate that Chainsaw...

"OK, Rose, give me your missiles-don't worry, you'll get them back-then bring me some coolant barrels.  Kora, help me with these conduits here-we need to substitute the second layer of solid-state explosive with a liquid delivery system.  Once the liquid reaches here, we need to implement a system that causes instant sub-zero sublimation of the expanding gases, immobilizing but without significantly damaging anything caught within..."

After about two minutes, the first device was done; after five, there were ten.  "OK, Kora, can you refit the rest of these while Rose and I save Carrie?"

Kora nodded. Justin loaded the missiles into Rose's mech, jumped into his own mech (he used a remote starter to bring it to him), and raced off towards Shiza and co., motioning for Rose to follow. "And get ready to fire that missile!"

Justin skids into the corridor, using his mech's hands to keep from sliding.  Rose is right behind him.  He kneels down, and says, "Rose, now!  Fire at Shiza!  It'll be alright, trust me!"

Curtis' shot hits the bear's cybernetic eye, knocking it loose.  Unfortunately, it points it straight at Bailey.  Enraged, the bear leaps at her, and with no time to dodge she raises an arm to protect herself-

A high-power energy bolt lances out of the darkness, piercing cleanly through the bear's upper body and vital organs.  Anything goes down-hard.  Curtis can see something move quickly out of sight farther down the canyon-something mechanical.  However, more pressing is what he can't see...
Bailey is nowhere to be seen.

Curtis gasped, and ran forward with a frown.
I wouldn't put it past the rebels to have followed us and that to be an attack. Curtis said with a scowl, and ran forward quickly.
Time to show them justice.
