 Vanon released the King, disgusted, and watched he slid down into his throne. All these years, and this moron was the man to mess up everything. "Your city is burning. Hundreds of your men are dead. What were you planning to do." It didn't really sound like much of a question.
 Horace, still cowering, answered. "I already carried it out. I have no more plans."
 Vanon slammed his hand down on the throne's arm, smashing the wood into splinters. "What. Did. You. Do!" He screamed. Horace IV looked up in complete terror, the reality of what was happening was just sinking in.
 "K-Kelsier. Kelsier." He breathed, spilling out everything rapidly. "H-He said he c-c-could help, kill a-all the dem-mons that a-are in the c-c-city..."
 Vanon didn't relent. "Do you know what those so called demons are?" He yelled. "They are the shadows of dead brothers, and they have no choice but to follow the order of a brother. Did you know that Kelsier recently joined the Brotherhood?"
 The King stared at him, aghast, as the horror of what he had done became apparent to him. "Then... The demons... Kelsier let them in?" Vanon nodded, and the King slumped down even further. "What have I done?" Then he whispered. "What can I do?"
 Vanon straightened, standing at his full height. "You can still drive them out; but you will have to do, exactly what I say..."
